  2. Sharp T Bird Michelle. Beautifully done and an excellent colour choice. If it was a 1:1, l reckon you could have some fun in it until, well, you know how the song goes. Top stuff. 👍🏻
  3. Very nice.
  4. I dont think the phaeton would work as a bugatti. its just not fancy enough for the bugatti name and sits below the audi a8 in terms of spec. Its a good car but even as a vw fan it always seemed like it was trying to be an audi and like you say, the vw name just isn't going to feature in many ceo car parks. a few folk i know in the vw scene think it was more of a production test for the engines as they got put in a lot of the vw group suvs when the phaeton went away. vw would probably use the audi a7/porsche panamera for a bugatti base. the platform is probably the most versatile for engine variety and has all the latest kit so offers more option for body and trim packages and its already used under the bentleys so we know it can handle a heavier body
  5. Very sharp looking Chevelle there. Love the save regarding the rear window. 👍🏻 Top stuff.

Looks tuff as! Top build. 👍🏻

  8. That is some serious work going on there. Great job so far.
  9. I have been looking at the VW Phaeton luxury car. A really nice motor car but the VW badge did not have the same cachet as BMW, Mercedes Benz and other cars in that luxury sector. It would have been very interesting to see what the demand for that car would have been if VW had badge engineered it as a Bugatti as part of a range aimed at the senior management sector, instead of making elitist Bugatti super cars for the mega wealthy. Pitched against BMW and Mercedes in that sector I think that VW might have done a lot better using the Bugatti name on it. The Bugatti name has a lot of history, particularly due to its sporting and luxury forebears that only the very wealthy could afford, and I guess that VW saw the very wealthy as the most promising market for the name. I watched a YouTube video of a Chiron struggling to come out of a London showroom across a kerb onto the road across temporary ramps so that the front end would not scrape the ground due to the minimal ground clearance. Wouldn't be wanting to drive the car along any roads with speed bumps. Ouch!

    Stunning work. Very nice indeed.
  11. Very nice indeed. Thanks for the helpful write up about this kit.
  12. Very nice indeed. The GM blue looks perfect to me. The salad package ‘glass’ is a great idea.
  13. Very nice.
  14. Not the most aesthetically pleasing on the eye car, but interesting as a bit of an oddball model build just the same. Nice to see models being built of more unusual cars and this project is taking shape really well. A blend of kit bashing and scratch building techniques unfolding should yield a very unique model.
  15. Yes they are...I have two. Back to the original programming.
  16. Very nice!
  17. How can you print it in 1/24th scale?
  18. Historic Racing Miniatures also does the Halibrands
  19. I’m not sure if anyone has pointed it out yet but the missing side trim, front fender emblem and wheel style shown in the CAD and box art images means the kit is a Comet Cyclone and not a Caliente which is what the old AMT craftsman kit is of.
  20. Yep, but patience can pay off. I had an idea around 6+ years back for a non-DTM car done up as a DTM car (ironically in the similar vein as my Mercedes NASCAR build), but in searching on eBay for these, I was immediately disappointed to see them routinely going for close to 3 figures if not more. I'm too poor for that. Kept an eye out nevertheless and one day spotted one partly built with trashed decals (was planning different livery anyway), where the seller mislabeled it and I ended up as the single bid winner at 15 bucks. Now, if I only had time to get working on the whole project ……
  21. When I read the thread title, I wondered what car The Three Amigos had and what markings were on it. I mean it’s been a long time since I’ve seen the movie…
  22. Hand carving Gary, a skill I could never master!! SS and Scarab look great, as I am sure your Corvette will when finished. Dave B
  23. Thanks, Carl. Ha! Good point. Thank you.
