Rob Hall
The vaccine producers miss-guessed the stains this year. I read that it's only 25% effective this year. My wife was down with it for 2 weeks... I was fortunate not to get it from her. We both had shots. That's what I've heard..I get the flu shot every year, haven't had it in at least 25 years...but I do get nasty sinus infections once in a while..t Edited January 26, 2015 by Rob Hall
bismarck
Same here. We just refer to it as "the mid Ohio valley crud" . Between all the smog, pollin, and dust, people with sensitive sinuses have a pretty tuff time.
chunkypeanutbutter
So the roof on my Tamiya Mini melted and curled while drying. I forgot to move it off the heater pipe, so it's my fault. The good thing is, on the black parts tree, there was a malformed brake drum and shock. So I emailed Tamiya, and I'm going to purchase replacements for all three parts. Lucas van H
Went to the mall to get some food for dinner, paid and walked out. When I got home I was looking where I put the groceries, only to realize that I left them on the roof of my car so I could open the car. Boy, the person behind me would need to get his car cleaned... Tom Geiger
Sorry to hear that Lucas. One time many years ago I was stopped at a traffic light on a busy highway. I look over and the car on my right has a large ladies purse on the roof. There was a young girl driving it, so I honk and try to get her attention. I'm waving my arms and pointing up to the roof. The girl looks at me in disgust, like I'm some idiot trying to pick her up. The light changes and she hits the gas pedal to get away from me. A few hundred feet down the road I'm far enough behind her to watch the purse fly off the roof and a bunch of cars run it over! Oh well, nothing like a little Karma. Similar story...I was on the interstate, looking disreputable and driving my old beater truck. Happened to notice the young blond lass with the phone stuck to her head passing me in the shiny big Ford SUV was running almost on the rim...right front tire totally flat...and I'm frantically waving and pointing to the tire, trying to get her to understand it's impending doom. She flipped me the universal finger signal of love, so I just slowed down and let her go on her merry way. You just can't help some people. cobraman
That's sad but nowadays people are afraid. If it were my daughter I would probably want her to keep driving even if it meant destroying a rim. Better safe than sorry. The finger may have been a bit much but there are just too many weird and dangerous people out there anymore. IMO

IMO I was more concerned with the woman losing control of the vehicle and rolling it if the tire blew and came off the rim completely, possibly killing herself and a few carloads of innocent moms and kids in the process. bismarck
If anything did happen to the young lady, her first question, (if she made it out of the crash in one piece) would probably be "why didn't anyone warn me?!! why did this happen?!!"..... Clueless. The fact she had a phone glued to her head says a lot about being aware of what's going on around her means to her, even if it's her own safety and the safety of others at stake. You would at least think she would have felt the steering wheel pulling to that side.... Edited January 28, 2015 by bismarck

Bill, we know you concern was real. You are one of the good guys for sure but you have to admit that there are a bunch of bad people who make the news and put doubt in peoples minds about others who really are only trying to help. Bad people are everywhere. Look at the story of that older couple who went to go look at a 64 Mustang convertible to buy that they heard about through a Craigslist add. They wanted to spend there later years in their dream car and were killed by some piece of slime. Not the same comparison but you get the idea. Trusting strangers is just rare nowadays. chunkypeanutbutter
I just found out that the two seniors were dead. I hope that the guy who killed them is allowed to suffer for the rest of his "life." People like this don't even deserve to be around. bismarck
And what would you call her hand gesture? She was four fingers short of a friendly wave, don't you think? And if I see anyone driving with a cell phone to their ear while driving, which is illegal in the state of Ohio, YES, I will judge that person of negligence and indifference to her own safety, and to the safety of the people around her. she's free to turn herself into a greasy spot on any highway in the world, that her prerogative, but if I have my family in my car, and something happened to them because of that ladies negligence...... How would YOU react to that situation? Yes, I absolutely WILL judge. And so would a jury of her peers for negligent vehicular homicide if she were to cause a wreck causing fatalities Edited January 28, 2015 by bismarck

Danno
maybe she was calling triple-A? everyone's so quick to judge... Yeah, right! And, I'm guessing we're supposed to figure AAA was expected to catch up with her and change the tire on the fly while she was still driving and chatting, right? High octane
I hafta agree with your comments Kevin as talkin' on a hand held device is illegal here too, but in today's world people don't drive responsibly and have that "hurray for me and FY" attitude. bismarck
Yeah. This issue strikes pretty close to home for me. My wife and mother in law were nearly killed in a car wreck with very similar circumstances this past September. The other driver said she was arguing on her cell phone and didn't pay attention to oncoming traffic. Three major surgeries and several lawyer visits later, and we're still no closer to a resolution.... Mr. Smythe needs to go spit in another corner... Roadrunner
What irks me today? Craigslist morons. "Hi, is this item still for sale"? Why, yes it is. "OK, I'm really not interested". What?

bismarck
Maybe you should have told them it just sold, then waited for them to offer more $$$ Yeah, I can see where that would tend get on the nerves.

I mean really, doesn't the title Cheese Steak give a clue that the customer expects more than a teaspoon of shredded cheddar cheese??!!! Damned sammitch didn't look anything like the menu picture. StevenGuthmiller
I was not only irked, but extremely surprised when I opened my gas bill & found that they "thought" I owed them $497.00 for the month of December! I thought not!! Seems our meter reader mis-read our meter! Steve
