  1. Your results speak for themselves, thanks for sharing. My worry would be "painting" the glue/water mixture on with a brush if that's what you are describing? You don't have to worry about tearing the tissue? What if you loaded a cheap spray bottle and sprayed the mixture on?
  2. Here's an example of the louvers used on a trunk lid.
  3. For doing the door cards and flat seat inserts the MRR roofing sheet works really well, but like Les said, doesn't work well for anything that needs to be bent. Here it is used to replicate the T+R on the original Little Deuce firewall. I have also used the tile roofing to simulate diamond pleats. Everything here except the seats is plastic sheet
  4. My cousin built this kit back when it was new. At the time we shared a build space. When he abandoned the hobby I inherited it, but as a pile of parts. recently I started finding the parts scattered through all of my sorted parts boxes and gathered together what I could find, thinking about doing a retro 80's sport truck build out of it.
  5. I can verify that the alcohol method works, at least on Monogram 80's "gold" plating. I had 1/24 Golden T and removed the "gold" by a quick 5 second soak in alcohol. Rinse immediately jut to be safe. The alcohol shouldn't effect the chrome, but better safe than sorry.
  6. Call me crazy, but I keep hoping to find one of these at Ollies (they have all the other current Monogram assortment, but for some reason not this one) Not to build out of the box, but throwing the decals, wheels, pipes and turbos at the Revell kit. I know someone on the forum was doing just that awhile back with several of these camaros.
  7. You should have grabbed one or two of those Sundowner kits and sold them on the "black market". Could have paid for your whole shopping trip. 😋
  8. Stumbled on this build again looking for something else. Decided it deserved a bump, and wondering if anything happened with his collection of built models and projects. Hopefully his built models reside with someone who cares about them and knows the amount of effort put into them. @Steve H I know you're a fan.
  9. I know I'm late to the party on this question, but just in case you haven't gotten the results you want yet @rossfox here are my thoughts. You didn't say if you were applying the Molotow with the pen, or a brush. When I use Molotow I have switched to applying it with a brush, much better control and results. If you have the pens you can get a pool of it by pumping the pen repeatedly like you do when you are starting the pen, but continue to do it to get a pool and then dip your brush in it and apply. To eliminate the issue using the pens I simply bought the Molotow refill bottle, which also lasts longer and doesn't dry out like the pens tend to. Using Molotow is way easier than BMF on tiny knobs, interior details and door handles. Even though some challenge that Molotow and other ink based chromes are not going to last over time, there is no evidence to say it won't either. And if it doesn't you can BMF over it after the fact down the road. There is a question of durability, but if you don't touch Molotow so far my results say it does maintain it's chrome finish, going on 3-4 years now.
  10. very nice color combo, and I love the coupe rear window.
  11. Nice subtle weathering and hot rod flare.
  12. Ace, I know you haven't been at the bench much lately, but I stumbled on this one again looking for something else and decided to bump it again. 😁 So much good stuff going on in this post that I felt obligated to introduce it to those that missed it before.
  13. This is exactly how I did the master for both a stock height and "more" chopped roof sections for Altered States back when the Revell kit came out. Sadly he no longer produces the resin roofs, but you can make your own by creative cutting and splicing like Brian describes. Here are a couple builds I did using the resin copies.
  14. Yes, very nicely done conversion work. I think the revival of this thread has given a few of us some ideas to try our own 3W
  15. With your talents at 3d design and paint you should be able to turn some of these into real gems.
