I want to send out a big thank you to Dan Baker and everyone that helped run this event, this is no easy task and without participation and support they just won't happen. Again, THANK YOU DAN!

When can we expect to see issue 226
blunc replied to bobthehobbyguy's topic in Model Cars Magazine News and Discussions
(jumping on my soapbox) I can understand people wanting to receive what they paid for or what they were gifted, but I want to rehash things that have already been said in this forum several times: I have met Gregg and seen him in action, if you think that being unable to produce the magazine to a schedule that we're used to from the old days doesn't frustrate the heck out of him (and the rest of the staff) then I invite you to produce a magazine of your own so that you may know some of what Gregg and his staff go through... "walk a mile in their shoes". Anyone on this forum that complains should remember that the use of this forum is still free because Gregg pays for it, so how about a little more support and patience rather than whining...or maybe ask how you can help. Also consider that the magazine most likely barely makes enough money to support publishing it. A while ago when the concept of lifetime subscriptions was floated, I paid without hesitation, mostly to support Gregg and the magazine, receiving issues for the rest of my life or just the rest of the life of the magazine was just a bonus for me. Please allow some grace for Gregg and the staff, send healing vibes to Gregg so that eventually he won't need any more surgeries. (done with the soapbox for a while) -
I suggest checking out some of the nickel plated rods and tubes the A4 Garage channel on youtube uses. If you haven't checked his videos out yet, he has a video that covers his tools and supplies... and he also notates what he uses for detailing in his detailing videos.

Since the profile of the door is the same on the front and the rear edges of the door, I would try to find photos of the real hinges to see how they are shaped/mounted and then see if I could make that work in scale.

A4 Garage was highlighted here previously:
-
as seen in the video, he solders the top and bottom hinges to the pivot rod, he almost always shows exactly what he uses for metal parts, usually nickel plated or straight nickel which can be soldered without too much fuss.

you may have dodged a bullet.

this item is relatively inexpensive and would allow the use of previously posted drill bit chucks. https://www.harborfreight.com/48v-cordless-14-in-screwdriver-kit-59758.html

this looks like a good candidate, as stated above, keep the rpm's low if you don't want to melt plastic: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08TB6J7Z1/ref=sspa_dk_detail_0?pd_rd_i=B08TB6J7Z1&pd_rd_w=xEY0a&content-id=amzn1.sym.4c2f1198-6238-4523-9ffc-0af298bb25ac&pf_rd_p=4c2f1198-6238-4523-9ffc-0af298bb25ac&pf_rd_r=V4GTSYFC8PHEK7NDA5TC&pd_rd_wg=AzeNK&pd_rd_r=e3871aeb-0f54-47b1-91b7-7ba4c22df7e9&s=hi&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9kZXRhaWxfdGhlbWF0aWM&th=1

speaking as a person that has rebuilt many of these, it's really nice to see them with all the proper linkage on them rather than a blob of plastic.

Is this common?
blunc replied to Earl Marischal's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
they're probably just out of blinker fluid. -
odd to make a carb that everyone loved to hate.... That being said, it's a necessity for certain mopar stock builds. (and since everyone liked to throw them out, one of them ran well on my '68 Firebird, you just have to know how to work on them)

Atlantis Models has bought another lot of tooling/molds.....

really hoping for glass -
please remember that this forum is paid for by Gregg H and most likely the moderators don't get paid for herding cats. More than likely when you created your account, you agreed to the very things you are complaining about. It would be unfortunate if the moderators had to adopt the "one strike and you're out" ruling I have seen in Faceborg modeling groups. Please be nice to the administrators and moderators, they receive very little thanks from the cats they are herding.

nice Cunningham, I've wished occasionally that someone would come out with a Cunningham C3 but I know there's not enough market for such an obscure car.

I agree with Rodent, GM "usually" used Rochester carbs. Carter carbs were more common on MOPARs -
bumping this to bring it back in view

putting a 6 cyl in it would be more unique than installing a V8.. making it easily more eye catching and will draw even a casual viewer in to look at the extra work you add to the build. -
bumping this because it's coming up soon.
