  1. Got this one yesterday too. I was tempted to get the Kenworth Ready-Mix truck too, but passed. Also, had a 15% coupon which was a nice surprise.
  2. stopped in my store today. the clerk told me they haven't gotten the clearance notification yet but that she knew it was coming soon
  3. awesome - thanks for posting. This is timely as I just started a Model A with Ardun power, and I was looking for more reference material. Especially wanted to understand better how the water pumps are set up.
  4. That's correct. The original issue kit (First Edition) is essentially a Badlands with the Sasquatch package. Outer Banks has smaller, body color flares, and a different grille. It has 18" wheels with street tires (standard, but if you order the sasquatch package, the flares are black and of course the 35" tire package). I think there are more lux items available in the interior (leather seats, climate control, etc). the tires on the kit look more aggressive than the factory offering. Looks like it has the standard bumper instead of the modular bumper like the first kit.
  5. nice work! I built one last year in the same color.
  6. today was the second time I saw two (2) cybertrucks at the same time. They were on a transporter headed the other direction. My eyes still hurt.
  7. Parts received. Thanks Larrymoo!
  8. I am in need of the smooth grill filler panel and the headlight blanks for this kit, for the drag option. I have lots of a pretty good amount of '60s and '70s corvette and muscle car parts and kits for trade.
  9. Nice work. Model on!
  10. Thanks for posting. That's local to me. I'd love to check it out if I can.
  11. No pictures fortunately. But while following one of the Cybertrucks, I spotted another one coming the other direction. First time I've seen more than one at the same time. Sometimes an ugly car will grow on you. But I don't see it happening with this one.
  12. You can see a bit of the front of my house in the pic. It's a pretty similar grey. ?
  13. as of Saturday, this Bronco is my new ride. My boss talked me into selling him my 4Runner.
  14. RIP Snake45. I always enjoyed his threads and his extensive knowledge of classic kits. Especially the Snake-fu restorations of old builds. Sad to hear that he passed. My condolences to his family.
  15. I decided I'm not going to use this trailer, so I'm offering it here for anyone that wants it. the trailer is painted and the leaf springs are primed, everything else is bare plastic. I'll trade for parts box stuff - '60s/'70s musclecar engines, wheels, tires, etc. also, any mid '60s - '80s pickup parts. Thanks
  16. Nice work! I remember when they were new, I wanted my folks to get one. Mom ended up with a Bobcat wagon (the Mercury version) instead.
  17. stopped in one of the local Ollie's yesterday hoping to find some Jeeps. lots of police cars and AWB novas, a couple roadrunners. i left empty handed
  18. my stash is currently around 75 kits. I made a spreadsheet with notes on what I had planned for each or if it's a donor for one or more of the others. Hope to get it down to 15-20 kits within 5 years.
  19. Agree with Tootsietoy. I had a bunch of them when I was little.
  20. I bought a couple of the Coke issue Ranchero kits so I could build a replica of my old Coke cooler. Mine is the larger version of the Westinghouse unit that came in the kit. I measured the full size unit and cut the kit pieces to about the right size before piecing them together. I need to cut down the lids and make the center piece before I start painting.

  21. Looks great! Inca Gold? I just built a Bonneville that color
  22. Finally finished the giant Pontiac just in time for it to count this year. Having a permanent workbench setup was helpful this year. Hoping to get through more of the stash and improve my skills this year. Happy New Year to all and thanks for the inspiration.
  23. Trying to get this beast done before the end of the year. Got the wheels dechromed and painted. Still need to foil the side trim and I finally got the bumpers stripped so I can clean them up before spraying with Revell Chrom.
  24. I started building when I was probably 6 or 7, but I didn't hold on to any of those early efforts. The oldest build I still have is this '72 Corvette I built around 1997 or so. It's a replica (sort of) of the first Corvette I ever rode in, that belonged to my uncle. The body and engine are from the AMT '70 Street Machine issue, and the chassis and interior are from the Revell '69 kit. His car was an automatic, but at the time, I couldn't find the correct TH400, so it has a white metal TH350 I believe I ordered from R&D Unique. I recently swapped the tires out and added the vanity plates he had on his car. This was the first time I used Alclad on bumpers, and it's held up pretty well. There's a few things I would do differently if I built it today, but it's a good memory.
  25. Had to clean up the hobby desk over the holiday as we had guests (it's in our guestroom). So before I dug back into the Cobra racing team set, I decided to have a little fun and practice some techniques with one of my $13 scores from Ollie's. I opted to use the curbside parts for this one to keep it simple. I scribed the doors and trunklid, and added a black wash before I primed, tried the embossing powder for carpet, and foiled some of the emblems/scripts before applying Testors Inca Gold lacquer. The interior is Tamiya dark yellow, with gold embossing powder. I could have used another coat of paint, but I like the overall result of the foil, and learning things for the next build.
