  1. The latest anomaly with shipping I've dealt with is the Indianapolis USPS black hole..I've had two international items routed there then they get no tracking updates for 10-15 days, then they seem to be in motion again. Very weird...
  2. I recently received an expensive resin kit from a big name caster, it was in a sturdy mailing box with parts bagged, bubble wrapped and wrapped in newspaper. One corner of the mailing box was mashed in an inch or so. Luckily, no damage.
  3. I’ve been getting those also. First time it made me think because I have been on toll roads in PA a few months ago but looking closely they were fake.
  4. I see adds at the top of the page for truck wind deflectors and lingerie.
  5. I've been getting those (PayPal scams) about once a week for $399.
  6. When I lived in Phoenix I used to see a black Checker sedan in the Arcadia area..
  7. Probably had 6" to 8" inches of fresh snow over ice today. Going to be pretty cold the next few days. Looking forward to Spring.
  8. Yeah, it's wider in the front than the AMT/MPC 1/25th, narrower than the Revell/Monogram 1/24th cab.
  9. Yeah, I have a couple of those somewhere in the stash. Have to dig one out this weekend and compare
  10. Yep..my first couple years of driving I didn't drive in snow (high school in S. Florida, summers in Ohio). I still remember the winter of '88-89 learning to drive in snow.... I took my '86 Mustang LX w/ snow tires out into snow covered empty parking lots--rear drive, manual, sliding around, doing donuts... My driveway this afternoon was covered in ice, has a slight slope, turned off the traction control when I pulled in and managed to drift my 5000lb Jeep down the driveway...heh heh...
  11. I think the ‘64 was a 2dr, a Craftsman or Jr Craftsman. Not sure what they did in ‘61.
  12. Well, the Revell Blazer body is definitely wider than an MPC truck body. The MPC ‘81 grille from the recent Sod Buster pickup kit fits, but with big gaps on each side.
  13. Sorry to hear that Mike, never easy to lose a pet. My strange little Chi mix rescue Beardsley is still going at 11 or 12 (not sure of his exact age)... he's now the grumpy old man barking at the young Yorkies.
  14. Yeah, I thought I’d dig out some of my Iceman grills and see if they fit. Think I’ll get a Canuck 3D ‘89-91 grille with the quad rectangular headlights.
  15. I don't even mind that they cast the rear roof w/ the body, because when was the last time you saw an '81-91 K Blazer or Jimmy with the top off?
  16. Yeah, got one last week from Southern Motorsports Hobbies. Looks really nice...looking forward to the GMC Jimmy version later this year.
  17. I buy some of everything.. I like all sorts of subjects. Not afraid of curbsides or different scales either.
  18. Sharp car..love the wheels and subtle blue-gray color.
  19. I went and saw the new 'Becoming Led Zeppelin' documentary in IMAX. Was a great experience. What was not so great is this morning after having a coating of ice and then snow yesterday, I swept the snow off my Jeep, let the defroster run 20 min or so to de-ice the windshield, when I turned on the wipers to clean off the slush a big crack appeared across the windshield. It is 11 years old and had one small rock chip. Oh well. Time to cue the 'safelite repair, safelite replace' jingle...(once it warms up).
  20. My understanding from talking to the Round 2 rep at a show last year is there are Pro Stock versions of the Demon and Duster coming.
  21. Different box, usually expanded decal sheet..
  22. I buy plenty of 'foreign' kits. This forum isn't really representative of the modeling community as a whole, it skews towards a niche of older American kit builders.
  23. Harts Parts makes the base style 70 grille. I have seen pictures of '70 Duster 340s with the base (Valiant-style) grille and the grille like the AMT '71 340 kit also.
  24. Southern Motorsports Hobbies is where I got mine. I have one on preorder from Wes' Model Car Corner also.
  25. Great times for the hobby...lots of new tools and reissues from the traditional kit makers and a vast amount of subjects available in the aftermarket....
