  1. Yeah I got it over Thanksgiving break, and was able to get to level 7 before I came back to school. From what I hear, going higher than level 21 means the grinding begins, plus the fact that you need a level 24 car for a level 23 race. The are parts of the game I like (large number of cars, physics, graphics, karts, what little weather and day/night there is), however most of the game seems really half-assed. Doesn't help the Sony basically forced them to include 3D and Kinect support and probably forced them to get it out the door before Christmas. I really liked the overall setup of GT4 and wish they could have kept it similar while adding the new features. And yeah it's great having some Ferraris and Lambos, but they barely added any other supercars. No new Astons? No new Bentleys? 1 new Maserati? No new RUFs? Hopefully they can get some patches together for the more glaring flaws.
  2. I'm in! Perfect build since I've been wanting to build the Jeep J10 from Twister! Last Movie CBP I built the Jeep CJ-7 from St. Elmo's Fire.
  3. Yes okay we all understand your concerns. If you note, the last annoyed post was yesterday.
  4. Yeah, basically it's not so much the kit you have that you like the most, but rather if you could have any kit made to your liking. Any subject, any make/model, any size.
  5. If you had the choice to have a kit made, in any size, what would it be? Mine would be a 1/12th scale Jeep YJ Wrangler. It would be fun to customize and detail at that scale, and then I could also make it into what I want my Jeep to look like.
  6. Meh I'm at school right now, thus I can't build any models, so I can at least bicker to pass the time.
  7. Dude, there isn't nearly as much rust rot as there should be! Looks great!
  8. I just gotta throw some putty on the corners and it'll be ready for paint.
  9. Is 'ol George the exception to the rule? And I guess it doesn't matter. Everyone can have their own idea of what a custom or customizing is, and that's all I'm gonna say on that subject!
  10. Well it's been stalled for a while now. I decided that I want to make it a solid axle 350 instead, and use the TTB suspension for a 4x4 F-250 extended cab that I'm going to build to haul this truck. Of course, I'm waiting on the axle and leaf springs from Ma's Resin so I haven't gotten much further yet. I guess I could post pics of where I'm at with the engine and my scratchbuilt front brushguard.
  11. Could you specify what brand kit it is? Also I see you're from Hancock, I'm over at Michigan Tech right now!
  12. I know we;ve had a thread here already about this, but I'll throw in my two cents again. I'm part of the generation born in the late 80's, and thus have a different idea than say the guys born in the 50's. I find that doing anything to your car to make it look either different than stock, or in some cases different than another person could be considered customizing. You also have to remember that the days of frenching lights and channeling bodies is falling behind. It's tougher to do certain mods to newer vehicles unless you have a ton of time vested in the work. I can see still calling a chopped, channeled, slammed '49 Merc being called a "kustom", but I think that the mods specific to those sorts of vehicles aren't just considered customizing. A new paint job could be considered customizing, since you're giving it your own personal flavor. Heck, as much as I hate the mods that ricers do, does it really matter in the grand scheme of things, especially compared to what guys did back in the day? Frenching lights to create air pockets that reduce aerodynamics, leading seams to add mass to the body, chopping roofs and channeling floors to make less interior space, adding gaudy wheel covers, sometimes large amounts of chrome trim and grille pieces, the list goes on. Granted there are people who think their poorly modded car is fast, but all in the same it could just be for looks. What I want to say is stop living in your little world where your definition is the true one, and that the old car guys are what defines how a car should be done. People are today creating fantastic works of art that have little to no body mods, and they are certainly custom compared to how it came stock. Oh, and of course I mean reasonable modifications. Damage being customization? Perhaps if you did it with a hammer to make a statement or to say help with clearance. Different gas? So you'd somehow try and use the same gas or oil brand as the factory used?
  13. Shoulda just put on steelies and claimed that all 4 (6?) wheel covers fell off.
  14. I have several on my plate (certainly not as much as the seasoned veterans though!) 1964 Impala Derby Car 1980 Bronco XLT Sport 1987 F-250 Ext. 15. Since school is winding down for the semester, I've stopped working on kits for now. However, I decided to take some time and make a window sticker for this build, since it is going to be factory fresh (and I like doing research ). I also did like Nick did for his Trans Am, and figure out a VIN for it.
  16. Thanks guys! Yeah I didn't like the look of the stock wheels and tires on the box, so I found these wheels and thought they would fit perfectly.
  17. Wheels are Pegasus 19" chrome IROC wheels that I got from Scale Dreams (along with the disc brakes).
  18. Should work now, I was changing a few of them. Great paint was in part to using Future for a clear, which by the way is excellent to use!
  19. Finally got this finished. I decided to paint it like the rare Syclone Marlboro, but give it a set of white painted IROC wheels. Did a little underhood detailing, but otherwise it's stock. Enjoy!
  20. Well golly gee I actually finished this one, which is now posted in the Under Glass area.
  21. Haha competing awesomeness, good thinking! Actually he should do the Sierra GT, since he likes GMC more than Chevy!
