  1. I appreciate the feedback, Bill. Kit is the Revell "Calfiornia Wheels" edition.
  2. Just need a summer day to enjoy this ride! Nice work!
  3. Thanks, guys! Much appreciated.
  4. Not sure what the status might be of this kit's molds, but in light of recent developments, wouldn't be great to see this re-released?! Love your build, btw. Very consistent/accurate with what i remember of the original. Well done!
  5. Who did the optional Mustang II paint scheme renderings included in your Photobucket slideshow? They're very nice as well.
  6. Can't tell from the pic's, but looking at the PDF kit instruction sheet, the dash appears to be from the 2010 issue, as the radio face is the smaller face design not the larger display added in 2013. Can you confirm, Gerry?
  7. 1) Was your introduction to modeling at home? Yes 2) From whom? My Dad 3) What kind of models? Cars (old coupes and gassers) 4) What did the person who introduced you to modeling do for a living ? He was an auto-body repairman who built full-size customs and street rods on the side. 5) How old were you? 8 6) About what year was your introduction? 1968
  8. Nice build, enjoyed the fictitious back story as well.
  9. "The paintjob was done with Ferrari-red and clear enamels from Revell. The model was not weathered as the reference car came along in a top notch concours condition." ....This isn't the reference car?!
  10. Outstanding!! Your modifications, while significant, appear as subtle, but oh-so-perfect! Well done, sir.
  11. Well done! Love the restraint shown on the weathering, it's just right, not overly done.
  12. ...Yes, Emperor, your new clothes and your Trans Am are truly indescribable!"
  13. Great show put on by a great group of guys. Looking forward to next year, (February 1, 2014 — theme: 50 years of Mustang). And now a link to some more pic's from Saturday's show: http://s1132.beta.photobucket.com/user/qwtpshn/library/NNL%20West%202013
  14. I now live in Sacramento, but was born and raised in the Milwaukee area and concur with your praise of Model Empire and Greenfield N &H. Whenever I'm back there, I make the trip to both of those fine shops.
  15. ....This project will be completed for the NNL, Saturday, right?....
  16. Love your work, another great example!
  17. Model Car World does: "ENG-11 Chevy Small Block Gasser Headers (1/25th scale) $3.50 (over the frame fenderwell exit with dump tubes - '55-'57 Chevy, etc.)" http://www.mcwautomotivefinishes.com/resin/newstuff.html
  18. Nice build, especially like the paint detail applied to the wheels.
  19. If I'm not mistaken the convertible has a an 'X' member in the frame that the closed cars don't. Couldn't agree more with folks pining for an accurate 56 hardtop and 57 Nomad. I'd be all over those, too!
  20. NICE!!! Having grown up in Southeast Wisconsin in the 60s, my dad used to take me to Beaver Dam Raceway, Slinger and Hales Corners to watch the likes of Fuzzy Fassbender, Miles 'the Mouse' Melius, Tony Strupp, Mike Klecker and many others. This one brought back some great memories. Well done!
  21. I consider it 'minimizing my carbon footprint'. By insulating my home with a floor-to-ceiling layer of model kits, I'ver reduced my heating costs and thusly my dependence on fossil fuel. Everybody wins.
  22. Here's my plexer: I've made no secret of my passion for all things 'automotive'. I have a ’40 Dodge pickup street rod in the garage, my den is a shrine to automobiles, I built a separate workshop in my garage just to build models, yet every year I hear my wife and family lament how "difficult" I am to shop for! So I get things like coffee mugs with snow men on them, flannel shirts, (I hate flannel), goofy novelty gifts, etc. Don't get me wrong, I love my family and honestly am not lacking for anything, but, for Pete sakes, if you're gonna get me something, just do a quick 180 from anywhere in our house, it shouldn't be too difficult to figure out what trips my trigger. (And yes, I've told them this, but they claim that it's "not very exciting", we just want to get you something different.") Advice to family: Let it go, I'm not developing an interest in theatre, stamp-collecting, or anything else 'mind-expanding'. In the words of that immortal celluloid character, 'Popeye', "I yam what I yam, and that's all that I yam." Rant complete.
  23. On my way to work, Friday morning, I encountered the most beautiful rainbow I've ever seen. I'm thinking now that we got it wrong, it was the 'Mayan Rapture', as my evening commute was especially light.
