This is the UT Models 1/24 DTM Opel Calibra built as a street version, i.e. no roll cage or race car instrument panel, parts box bucket seats and Pegasus wheels/tyres (which had to be narrowed) instead of the kit slicks. A lot of surgery was required to remove all the electronic modules etc. from the interior. Paint is Testors' Emerald Green Metallic.

The 12 cars of Christmas... holiday quiz!
maltsr replied to Matt Bacon's topic in Real or Model? / Auto ID Quiz
Thanks for running this Matt, it was a fun, cool quiz. -
First completion of the year, it's the 1/25 Trumpeter 1965 Ranchero built box stock apart from slight lowering and parts box wheels and tyres. Paint is Tamiya Metallic Red with a Transparent Red clearcoat. I know this series of kits got slammed in the US, but it looks cool in my display and was a pleasure to build.

Terrific work, nice variety.

Excellent, both of them.

Excellent build, you've inspired me to dig mine out of the stash.

Nice varied collection.

I too have this same problem.

Very nice.

Thanks Carl (and everyone else!) I used the new Tamiya airbrush lacquer, LP7 Pure Red.

Very nice! Especially the '39 Custom and the Corrado convertible.

Nice car Erik, mine's a keeper, I've had it 12 years now. The towbar is for my bike rack.

Some nice builds there, I really like the Delahaye.

My 24th and final build for this year is the Revell 1/25 1948 Ford Custom Coupe with the fadeaway fenders option. Paint is rattlecan Testors' Inca Gold with a Tamiya Racing White interior and the model has been built OOB.

Yes Lee, both the Mk1 and Mk2 were rear wheel drive.
-
Sure is - many thanks again and Merry Christmas!

This build has been on the go for many months and was inspired by a local car here in Napier and a similar one I found online. It's a Belkits 1/24 Ford Escort rally car painted with Tamiya Aluminium and Dark Racing Blue spraycans. The model is box stock apart from a slight lowering. Still undecided about adding some racing decals, I quite like it as a weekend warrior.
