I've just got the chassis completed (other than drive and steering shafts).

Body work is about 50% complete and as it's basically a cut down of the stock kit body (from a Coupe Napoleon to a Landau) then i'm hoping to have it done soon.
Basically I feel confident in getting everything together by the deadline although body may still be in primer.  Still, won't be the first time somethings raced in that state eh?

Whoa. That is impressive.

Thanks Rob.

That's upside-down BTW.

I started painting the chassis today and put a check coat of primer on the bodywork i've done so far.  I'm hoping there will be no more filler needed.

The Mustang is done. I'm going to try to take some better pics for the vote thread but I wanted to get something up tonight. Just for a brief review I started with the AMT 77 Mustang II kit. It's got the chassis out of a Revell kit of the same car. The engine is from the Moebius 69 F100, it's a 240 straight six that is accurate up to the 300 ci version. In my build it's a 300 with a custom cross flow head made from two 4.6 modular heads shortened and turned end to end. I made the intake and exhaust manifolds from Evergreen and used an Ebay turbo. I stretched the wheelbase about one inch and added the wheelwells from a 2005 Mustang that also donated it's front suspension and headlights to the cause. The rear suspension is from the AMT 350Z kit along with the side mirrors and spoiler. The seats and steering wheels are from the AMT Supra. The wheels are Factory81 20" BBS with tires from Ebay. I made the body kit from Evergreen and putty.

Here is a pic of the car that became the design theme of this build. I want going in quite this direction until I saw this car, it's not an exact replica but I drew pretty heavily on some elements.

Damm Brian. That is seriously slick. It's got a really cool look front, back, side. Well done.

I'd really like you to PM the source for the BBS wheels.

Thanks Rob, I'm just glad I was able to get it done in time. The wheels are from BNA Model World out of Australia.

Racers. Today is Nov. 20. Ten days to go. Please make sure you get your finished photos in the finished photos thread. To date only six builders have finished and posted. I still need to post mine, I need a better background and take new shots of my Willys. As usual the finishers are as diverse a group as you could ask for. Also as usual, the build quality is outstanding. If you want to compete, make sure your photos are the best quality you can muster.

As he has for the last several runs, Mike (Lunajammer) will be taking care of the race poll. He does an excellent job.

As you may know, next years theme will be Vans/Panel trucks. If you have any questions on what is allowed please ask. It might seem like a narrow theme but if you do some kit research, I know there are some excellent options if you've the imagination to see them.

Spent all day at the bench.  Most of it on the Bug.

I'm still hopeful.  First thread says  build time ends 11:59 pm local time December 1st 2018.  This is important as i'm working extra hours next week and will only really get decent Bench Time on Wednesday (Rostered Day Off) and Saturday Afternoon...

After taking the pics I carved away more front fender for exhaust clearance and primed the body.  I then glued on two wheels before remembering I hadn't made the driveshafts and pulling them off again...

I love the build. Hope you get it done in time.

That IRS is sweet. Its a different take than what I did where I built the assembly and then attached it to the frame.

Looks like you attached the diff to the frame, and then added the axles and A-arms. It looks very realistic that way.

I don't know why I get such a kick out of this Scott, but it looks pretty good. Maybe add a couple pics to this thread so we can offer you the due kudos that are restricted on the Finished Builds thread.  :)

Eductor truck looks great Scott, if a little clean.

I'm making progress.

Since the pic above i've built drive shafts and PE seat belts, finished the blower drive and radiator, put the headlights and windscreen together and painted the extractors.  I'm now a lot more confident in finishing (if I don't f**k up something - I could still drop it onto my concrete shed floor...).
