Bainford
Yes, great news indeed. I'm definitely in for one of the RS200s. I am really impressed with the catalogue these guys are creating, especially in the vintage/slightly vintage rally car field. And the rate they are spitting out new tools is impressive as well. By now the Opel Mantas have been out for a few months and Belkits has 3 more new tools in the offing. First up and the furthest along is a pair of 2017 Ford Focus WRC kits. They're at production shot test assembly phase, along with creating the instructions. Then we have the rest, for which information is just the drivers and/or rallies to be represented. You'll notice in this graphic there are two MORE tools (2 kits each) that are in the works as well, but licensing is pending. There's also Belkits 014 which is more than likely a modified reissue of an existing recent kit that is "pending licensing". The 2018 C3s will be the Mexico Rally return of Sébastien Loeb with Daniel Elena. The other will be the pairing of Kris Meeke / Paul Nagle. The Group B ALL THE THINGS release of the Austin-Rover Metro 6R4 will be for - Jimmy McRae - Ian Dundrod Lombard RAC Rally 1986 Malcolm Wilson / Nigel Harris Rallye Monte-Carlo 1986 If you have no idea what a 6R4 is, Rover built it specifically to compete in the then popular and ultimately short lived Group B class, it vaguely resembles the Metro compact car of the time, but was purpose built. Yes a guy with a F1 exhaust making business near here in the UK had a road-going one for work. The team at British Leyland took the Buick V8 from the Rover SDI saloon car, cut two cylinders off to make a V6 and put it in the back! It was pretty successful as a rally car, doing both the national and World champs with the late Tony Pond driving it. As you say Group B was scrapped as the cars were super quick, some went into Rallycross , some still in National Club rallying and some onto the road with twin turbo's fitted! Pretty quick for a car a few feet longer than the Mini- Coopers and all fibre glass body and alloy chassis.

GeeBee
The modified Rover V8 3.5 litre engine was not used in the production models, it was only used temporary for design purposes, the engine used was designed by ex-Cosworth man David Wood who set about designing a compact, aluminium-alloy 3-litre V6 (called ‘V64V’ because of its V6 configuration with 4 valves per cylinder). I suspect it's due to what we saw with their announcement of the 6R4, then Beemax showing a 3D print of one a few days later. There are only so many Gr. B subjects to begin with, and these two are "fighting" over them, so declaring a claim on something would probably discourage Beemax from attempting that same project in the future. It's especially important to Belkits which doesn't do anything other than Rally subjects, compared to Beemax which has spread themselves around auto racing in general. When Belkits got together with their group of backers and distributors at the 2018 Nuremburg Toy Faire they made kit plans through 2025. How many AMT/Revell kits don't exist at all because of the old stories of - Well AMT had one in development, but heard Revell was doing one and so they scrapped it and then neither made the kit at all - and vice versa.
