bbowser Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 My first completion of the new year, been working on it for quite a while. These Heller kits are finicky with vague to non-existent part locations and weird one-piece window/interior panels, but some of the best in-scale plastic wire wheels. I stripped the chrome and painted them the same gray as the body, then did the rims with a Molotow pen. It has steerable wheels with close to scale tie rods and linkages, thus very delicate, ask me how I know! I enjoy the challenge and they have subjects not found elsewhere. Hope you like it, comments welcome.
Snake45 Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 Looks great! Just don't park it next to a giant Quail sign.
Gramps46 Posted January 27, 2019 Posted January 27, 2019 Very nicely done! I really like how you did the spoked wheels. I am a big believer that the spokes should be darker than the rims for a more realistic look and you have proven here.
dimaxion Posted January 27, 2019 Posted January 27, 2019 I am a Factory Stock builder . What we have here is a replica . The Wheels look so right . Nothing not to like . The Vagueness is just DeRigor in the Day . I have Heller Kits too Thanx
donb Posted January 27, 2019 Posted January 27, 2019 Bruce, that is one fine looking car. And the wheel detail looks fantastic. Another nice one.
Matt Bacon Posted January 27, 2019 Posted January 27, 2019 Very nice indeed, Bruce. It’s a very classy colour combination, and your detail painting is exemplary. Having done one myself, I know that it’s no shake and bake kit, but Heller kits of this vintage are worth the extra effort... best, M.
espo Posted January 27, 2019 Posted January 27, 2019 I'm not familiar with the subject but I sure like the way this looks. Very clean looking with good interior and engine detailing.
beeRS Posted February 3, 2019 Posted February 3, 2019 This is a kit that I've overlooked. You've done a great job there. I especially like the wire wheels. The Delahay has some lovely proportions. I think I'll have to find myself one of these kits. Would make an unusual street rod!
