tbill
This is the current state of my bench...., it’s 6 feet long, 3 feet deep, and I don’t even have the full area of the cutting mat to work on......., it’s a wonder I get anything accomplished, lol. Tom Geiger
Same deal here! Every so often I have one of those “Hold everything!” moments where I stop and organize a bit. Then it gets that way again!
SCRWDRVR
I’m not seeing the problem..... looks like my desk, like Tom I clear mine from time to time but it never last...
RichCostello
I'd have to clean mine up to get it that good. I bet you know exactly where everything is.
Bucky
I tidied up a bit a few days ago, and found a tiny part from a build I finished months ago! It went flying, and I ended up scratch-building a new one. Now, I have a spare, if I ever need one, again! LoL
Spex84
That's what my bench looks like too.

High octane
Wow, what a lot of stuff on your bench. I would find a different place for the spray cans and golf balls to begin with, however I build on my desk which is where I also read, pay bills, check my computer, etc. So if I'm not building, everything is put away in a drawer and no one can tell that I even build models. But that's just me
ToyLvr
Albert Einstein supposedly said “If a cluttered desk is a sign of a cluttered mind, of what, then, is an empty desk a sign?” I think great minds (modelers and otherwise) think alike.....? oldnslow
HAHAHAHAHA , I feel your pain , my bench is 30" x 12' and if my cutting mat is clear , I feel lucky .
DumpyDan
I read everyone's comment, and I feel good about the state my desk is in. I have cleaned my desk up many times and as soon as I start to build back to looking like yours. I like it clean but I like it messy. Thanks everyone for sharing. Classicgas
Looks exactly like mine. Now I don't feel so bad! LOL. Thanks!
Rocking Rodney Rat
Yep, yep, yep...I actually cleared off my work bench and gave it a new coat of paint several months ago...back to the cluttered state now, just the way we like it! -RRR
Dave Ambrose
Mine's not quite that bad, but it's gotten to the point where some clean-up is in order. That's on this evening's agenda.
StevenGuthmiller
Here Tom. This should make you feel better. This mess started back in April when I started my '65 Fury build. I suppose that I should have cleaned it up before starting my current project, but I didn't want to interrupt the flow of the creative juices! Tom Geiger
Fresh photo from a minute ago! This is a hollow core door wrapped in brown paper. I work on top of the pink board, and cut on the glass portion. That’s actually the glass from an old Xerox machine. Note that right now I’m working in that 9x12 clear area! StevenGuthmiller
Well, this thread was finally the inspiration that I needed to spend a couple of hours cleaning the shop. Now I'm ready to go to work! Steve
tbill
Haha, thanks everyone, glad it’s not just me? I think I will do a bit of a clean up at some point tomorrow, as I do need some space back . As to all the paint cans, that was all stuff that was in ‘current use’, so I had it all within arms reach. The golf balls on the other hand, well, sometimes I set things down on the nearest flat surface..... Steve, bench looks great now, now sit down and make a new mess?
