Nosferatu Posted November 2, 2022 Posted November 2, 2022 I saw this video on YouTube and decided to give it a shot. I thought this Tankenstein was very unique and cool looking. It will also get you thru any traffic jam! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NKrF6uxuFU I sat for about an hour and took a 1953 Ford pickup and cut off the bottom. I used an old tank chassis and altered it. I still need to do some more altering. I want to lower the height of the treads and cut the front of the rear fender so it wraps around the tread wheel like the front. I may shorten the bed. Everything needs to be tightened up. This is just a very loose mockup I also am trying to come up with a name for this. Thanks for looking Dave 4
Bainford Posted November 2, 2022 Posted November 2, 2022 Very cool, both the project and the 1:1. I have a couple tracked projects myself in my project book, so I'll be watching this one.
Nosferatu Posted November 3, 2022 Author Posted November 3, 2022 Thanks guys! Its still all in the making. Dave
Oldcarfan27 Posted November 3, 2022 Posted November 3, 2022 Right now it looks like the tank is eating up a Ford F100!
Nosferatu Posted January 4, 2023 Author Posted January 4, 2023 I did a bit more work on the build. I hope this Ford 427 will be enough power to haul this beast around. 3
iBorg Posted January 4, 2023 Posted January 4, 2023 Oh yes! Bet this would upset a bunch of IPMS memebers.
Zippi Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 This thing is looking pretty kewl. "F-750 TrackFord"
TarheelRick Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 Really like the concept and your build is coming along very well. Keep on building.
Nosferatu Posted January 5, 2023 Author Posted January 5, 2023 Thanks guys for your nice comments! I'm looking to make this somewhat rusty. Dave

Nosferatu Posted January 14, 2023 Author Posted January 14, 2023 Progressing along here. I am attempting to weather the bench seat. I've never tried this before. I made the springs. Lots more to do on the seat. Also going to put some rust on the truck body. I have some primer on it in the weathered areas. I will try the salt method. The bed floor still needs some work. Thanks for looking! Dave 3
Steve H Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 What a beast! This looks great Dave, very interesting project. The seat is a great touch, not often you see that in scale.
Lucius Molchany Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 Very cool looks like the green one has the chassis if a British Bren gun carrier..you used the road wheels of a German Panzer lV.
Zippi Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 I thought I'd check into building something along these lines but stuck out trying to find a 1/25 scale tank kit. What I could find was very pricey.

What I could find was very pricey. I used other scale tank parts, maybe 1/35th, not quite sure of the scale. I sectioned the main chassis and eliminated a few of the wheels. I find tank parts at military model swap meets and flea markets.
bobthehobbyguy Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 Love it. Great concept. Nice weathering.
Nosferatu Posted January 23, 2023 Author Posted January 23, 2023 This will be the last entry in this WIP thread for this vehicle. I am in the final assembly stage. The thread will be in the Under Glass section. Thanks for looking and I hope you like it. Dave I finished weathering the seat and put a star crack in the windshield.
