60 Falcon sedan/delivery - No Coke

Recommended Posts

Seeing the many chassis, interior swaps done on here tempted me to try one. I used the Coke ranchero kit, parts from a 65 mustang, and from the 63 Mustang II kits, and part of a 57 Nomad roof/glass to create this (before I found out someone makes a resin body). I used craft acrylic paints through my airbrush and finished with Testor's clear coat. Thanks for looking and the inspiration from you guys. Comments/questions welcome.

I guess I won't tell you how nice the resin body is now that you went to all this trouble to build your own excellent creation. 🤣

I have a resin wagon body as well. I will be using some of your tricks when I build it.

I'd like to see some pics of your build either in WIP or underglass.  Been curious about resin bodies, what are some differences when building vs plastic? Glad you found something you want to use on yours, that's a high complement. Thanks

Lei,

I love your interior. What kit exactly did it come from?

Here is a link to my finished sedan delivery. The donor kit is the Ranchero and I used all of the chassis and interior.

There are those that have worked with resin far longer than I have. Prep takes longer, some more than others. Thorough cleaning of the resin is essential, the mold release agent takes extra effort to clean. Your paint may fisheye, or even flake off if you don't. I learned the hard way. I use dawn dish soap myself but other modelers use different cleaners as well.

I used the chassis, dash, door panels and rear seat from the the old Lindberg  Mustang II kit. Had to modify the chassis floor pans quite a bit and build up under the door panels 2-3 mm.  Also I had to cut down the bottom edge of the windshield about 2mm to get the dash clearance.  I'll post pics here of the mock up of the interior from my other computer, they should help if you need them.
