This is model related. As a kid, I built a model based on a a drawing in CARtoons. I gave it to a friend after college who kept the good parts. Now, of course, I wish I still had it. So I get to thinking about that model and how I would like to build it again. Then I start looking for the article. It took a while and a lot of CARtoons searches until I saw a cover that looked familiar. One showed up one e-bay, (very lucky) and I picked it up. Inside was the article and the drawing I replicated. The one I built was the Sleepers club car. I used the AMT 34 ford P/U

Picked up some kits on my rounds in the city on the weekend and some wheels and tires at Wheels and Wings.

I have that issue, too - that chopped and sectioned '40 Ford Standard ambulance is my favorite. A lot of work, but easier than paying through the ears, nose and throat for the Aurora Meat Wagon!

Very cool! I too once built a model inspired by a car in CarToons or Hot Rod Cartoons. I think I kept the issue. I WISH I'd kept all of them I had.

LMAO!...sure. The 007 kit is surprisingly VERY nice and detailed......i'm probably gonna piss-off a lot of collectors when I build it in a couple of months.....

I have not received the Imperial yet, so I revisited the one I had. I have not looked at it for more than a decade, and I forgot what I had. I vaguely remember trading a 66 Hero edition for a 64 convertible. I really wanted a 66, so I bought the grille, rear bumper, and tail lamps, wheel covers and tires from The Modelhaus to convert the 64, not realizing the interior and bodies were different. However, I bought an unpainted near glue bomb 66 convertible and parts cheap about that time. The chrome parts were not as nicely plated as The Modelhaus pieces, so I am going to use them on this build. In the same box as the convertible, there is also a 1965 hardtop, that was a built up that my friend Dave Toups stripped clean for me. At the time, I had another 65 hardtop so I entertained the idea of turning it into " The Black Beauty", but I decided against that Idea. So since I have a built 64 that I did, and a 65 hardtop to build, why not a 66 hardtop. I have the parts from the old 66 convertible, and I am sure that I can do the modifications to that body for a 66 hardtop, which never existed in kit form from AMT

I have to re-do the upholstery patterns, and the trunk lid. I will probably do it in triple black, lower it a bit, and install a set of detailed Appliance "Apache" wheels on blackwalls to give it the flavor of "The Black Beauty", the original one that is. 

In that vein, I have a 66 Lincoln Continental convertible project from last year to finish, and a 66 Cadillac Dr Ville convertible from a decade ago too. 

I have about 25 projects for this year started, which can be done between yard work and other household chores later this year.

I am pumped up. I have the planning set, and the kits, supplies and paint. I have some surprises coming this year off of the bench.

Received two 1/24 Cobras today .  Diecast CSX2000 and a Monogram Street 427.

Actually, she is really in-tune to it......she's also a builder!, not as often as us, but she does build. I didn't directly ask for this stuff, what we BOTH like to do is make a list of things we like, and whenever one of us wants to surprise the other, we don't have to spoil it by asking......it works brilliantly. I've been very "off" lately, so she decided to cheer me up with this stuff. apparently I still have the complete Tamiya Polishing system coming, Micro magnets, a high-tech seam scraping tool she saw on Flory Models, and Tamiya Modeling wax. You are right too, it is true love....I really wish more wives/girlfriends would support their guys hobby. its sad how many times I hear them bitch about what they're partner is passionate about.

I will, Ya, that Land Rover, and the Aston were my last "Holy Grail" kits too. The scraper looks like a photo-etch Megaladon tooth...lol

Not a problem, bud, The Pagani IS an amazing kit!.....mines going together EXTREMELY well, and i'm 99% sure I have all the body fitment issues squared away!  -even to the point where I've been adding TONS of extra details, instead of having to leave kit parts out.  Saturday I will be making the first of a 2-3 part build video on how I "tamed" the Pagani.
