curt raitz Posted February 20, 2015 Author Posted February 20, 2015 WOW! So nice and clean on the outside, awesome job on the engine bay. Truly a great model. What scale and what kit? Thank you, it's an old 1/12th scale Tamiya plastic model, it has been re-issued a couple of times
Notoriousek Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 That's simply amazing! Is it mostly box stock or was there a ton of detail added? Regardless it looks stunning, great job
curt raitz Posted February 24, 2015 Author Posted February 24, 2015 That's simply amazing! Is it mostly box stock or was there a ton of detail added? Regardless it looks stunning, great job Built pretty much straight out of the box, except for the decals (Studio27) and seat-belts (Repilcas & Miniatures)
Notoriousek Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Can't get enough of this build... It is stunning. Any issues while building? I have to pick this kit up. I've never done 1/12 before tho, I'm sure I will be in over my head haha.
BrianC Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Very nice build Curt, did you use the decals for the front cover or did you paint it ? I have the kit and decals but I thought I would paint the front cover. I started prepping the body a while ago - a long term project ! I have not found many pictures of this car - I see you built it as an open car which I was wondering about. Got any on line links for reference material ? Great build - and inspiration too - thanks for posting it.

I tried to get it close using the Studio27 decals, not a lot of photos available at the time I built the model. I no longer have the model, sold it on eBay awhile back. Beautiful car...
1959scudetto Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Great looking Porsche racer, Curt - I first thought that it was Tamiya's 1/18 kit.
