S. Svendsen Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Here is a model I made of the real '86 S-10 I drove back when I was in college during the early '90's. I backdated the Revell kit with a resin '86 grill. You can read all about it here... http://www.svensworldofwheels.com/S-10page.html
half fast racing Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 beautiful build up. the wheels are a nice contrast. years ago....I drove a '91 short box that was black....good little pick up.
mikemopar70 Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Beautiful S10!! Where did that grille come from?? I like the look of your pick-up, the paint is awesome and the build is very clean!!
mikemodeler Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Sweet! I had three S-10s over the years- a base 2wd '82 no options; a loaded Sport 4wd '88 and a loaded Tahoe trim 2wd '91. Had a blast in all of them and wish I had them today.
gluebomb Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 That is one superb build I wish my 1:1 S-10 looked half as good.
S. Svendsen Posted February 26, 2015 Author Posted February 26, 2015 The grill was from Perry's Resin. I don't think it's available anymore.
Scalper Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Nice paint work.. looks nice and clean. wheels colour scream 80's
bobthehobbyguy Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Sharp. Clean build, great paint. Great photography. Pictures make it look like the real deal.
hgbben Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 I wish my 1:1 looked that good. Great truck Sean
BirdWatcher Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Great paint job! Super photos. I doubt any 1:1 S-10 ever looked this good, not without a custom paint job anyway. Can almost hear Guns & Roses blasting. Cool work!
kymdlr Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 sharp. wheel color choice sets it off for me.
peekay Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Super slick build! I'm particularly intrigued by the number plates - amazingly realistic.
hjracing Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 I saw your build some time ago in your web page, and as ever you do an awesome build!
thatz4u Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 very nice replica, sorry the original went to that big dealership in the sky..
Jordan White Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 A very nice build of a good kit. Only thing that would make it perfect is painting the raised trim on the taillights.
S. Svendsen Posted February 28, 2015 Author Posted February 28, 2015 A very nice build of a good kit. Only thing that would make it perfect is painting the raised trim on the taillights.Base model trucks like mine had no trim on the tail lights.
Jordan White Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 I see this now, though you still did forget the reverse lights. probably doesn't help that the raised ridges are a bit out of scale.
