  1. remember to change out your piston return springs if you think your compression is getting low and if your Posi-traction isn't working like you think it should to have the "free floating pinion retainer" checked for proper free play.
  2. actually, I think you can actually get a "muffler bearing" for older Toyota cars. It's a hard rubber donut shaped item that holds up the tail pipe.
  3. some kind soul took the time to walk up my driveway and break the drivers door mirror on my wife's car. WTF!!! I haven't called law enforcement on any of the BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH that happens on my street!!!! I guess it's time to put security cameras on the house.
  4. I've seen more than one version, here are a few: looks like you can mount it where it's convenient...depending on manual/auto trans.
  5. are you sure the karts won't hit the model entry tables? certainly looks like it lives up to the name "Hobbytown".
  6. I would use green velvet but green velour should also work, just a slightly different texture.
  7. I know about this thread because I post my Good Guys pix from Arizona shows here. How's that for a totally useless post that is still on subject?
  8. you forgot to mention that he was posting a selfie to instagram at the same time.
  9. another thing that would probably get mentioned by any company that has the capability to scan and reproduce your small scale kit is that any/all discrepancies and/or errors present in the small scale kit will be magnified by the amount you want it scaled up. gaps will be huge unless corrected, if a part looks like a blob now it will just look like a bigger blob later. without magic, it won't turn into a well detailed bigger version...much as we would like it to.

I agree with Skip, it should go back up on the bench to be finished after the Rolls.
  11. If this is a Hi-Po 289, here ya go, this is the engine from the black fastback you already have a pick of. oil filter is on the drivers side directly above the oil drain plug. here is what the blob of carb plastic supposedly represents:
  12. Art has given us a comprehensive list that I agree with. For those of us building "scale model cars" this list is something to aspire to. For those of you building "3D Art", this thread is not for you. There have been suggestions/claims that we should "build for fun", most of the people watching this thread who that think it's "fun" to add a lot of detail usually don't pick apart builds that plainly don't want to include details that other builders enjoy seeing or adding themselves (this has been covered in other threads before). There are times when I see/hear comments of "Oh...I don't do all that detail stuff, I only build for fun.", and while I keep my thoughts to myself (except for this time) it makes it sound like those of us that like to add the fiddly bits are NOT having fun... I have a suggestion... GET A CLUE! BUY A VOWEL! USE A LIFELINE!!!! We ARE having fun adding details and building "SCALE MODEL CARS". PS. Thank you Tom for the photos that illustrate your points.
  13. mold lines across the top of radiator tanks that are not present on real radiators mold lines on just about any rounded pipe like part; headers, exhaust manifolds, drive shaft, axle housings
  14. maybe Mr. Sitton got his $5000 worth of parts off the car while the police were figuring out how to legally return the car to the Whites. $20,000 will probly be needed to return the car to the condition it was in when it was stolen.
  15. looks a LOT like an inertial damper if you ask me....
  16. as Maxwell Smart would say, "Sorry about that Chief."
  17. I like it but the angle of the tail light lens bugs my brain....my brain keeps saying "That's just not right."
  18. with all this screwing around trying to find an "appropriate legal reason" to return the Cuda to the Whites, the current possessor will probly strip the car before this gets sorted out.
  19. great builds, I always enjoy following your build threads.
  20. some have claimed the parts pack small block as the best 1/25 scale small block. (I'm tempted to say "But we know him as The Stig." but that's mixing too many media types.)
  21. removing the mold lines on the carbs will improve their appearance a bit.
  22. I heard a few years ago that folks in Cali were painting their lawns green in order to save water.
  23. calling the feds "morons" is very insulting to real morons....just sayin.
  24. that's a lot of engines Ira, I think you'll need to upgrade the inertial dampers.
  25. Jeff, I have acquired a couple minicraft Model A kits, the ones I have don't seem to be warped but there was a couple parts which seem to be broken and off sprue. I suggest getting a glue bomb (or even an unbuilt) AC Cobra to kit bash with since there will be some real good suspension parts to turn your minicraft-A into a fine piece of hot rod art. Just take your time and expect to make changes and adjustments...
