  1. "She's gone from suck to BLOW!"
  2. it's an vehicle with many interesting facets but unlike the disorganised plug wires, I find the routing of the carb fuel lines more disturbing... not something that I personally would route over the top of the distributor cap.
  3. I was a passenger in a large Ford van that got hit by an uninsured person running a red light, it spun the van a bit and caused the steering linkage to fail while we were still moving...right toward the side of a freeway. Fortunately, the van stopped before we got to the point of sliding down the embankment into freeway traffic. My head knocked out the glass of the sliding door, don't know how I didn't get a concussion...just hard headed I guess. the van was totalled.
  4. I am curious, did they give the driving citation to you or the ford van? in Arizona it sounds like it would have been classified as "failure to yield to oncoming traffic". I'm not insinuating anything, just curious about your states traffic laws. I personally am glad you're still around and that you share your amazing builds with us.
  5. why is Bill typing in latin?
  6. they serve cold cheeseburgers? that would irk me too.
  7. I once got suckered into fixing a half-shaft problem on an older subaru while it was stuck in a parking lot, turned out that the previous "mechanic" had not installed the proper amount of bearings into the axle shaft carrier (for some reason this subaru required two bearings). It really sux having to do any work involving suspension whilte in a parking lot and it sux even worse when it's Arizona and summer.
  8. I think we also tried to get the same engineer to check the value of a fuse with a meter, he usually stayed away from us after that.
  9. I once had a coworker hand a DMM to an engineer (a rather newly degree'd engineer) and ask him to check the polarity on a resistor, this new engineer asked what setting on the meter to use for that purpose. Not all engineers are created equal... I am irked at my current job by what seem to be "entitled" scientists that can't be bothered to keep their labels and instructions straight and then get mad when things aren't done they way they wanted.
  10. Happy Annual Survival Day, here's to many more.
  11. The Stiletto may have had less wing than the Starfighter...

A real "grand slam" on this project! Taking someone else's dream and bringing it to life is a great talent. BRAVO SIR! I think you're getting the hang of bare metal foil also.
  13. looks like incomplete mold on that front fender, I had a 65 impala body with a 1 inch gap in front of the drivers door.
  14. I hate when that happens.
  15. I made an HO drag car from a G-Plus, a long time ago, wound a hot armature for it. It would do the scale quarter mile in about two seconds (we didn't have any precise timing equipment), even with the dead zone at the end we had to have some foam to stop some of the cars from flying off the end of the track.
  16. that's so cute, she looks like a Fokker instead of an Albatros.
  17. Steve, that looks better than my first plug wire set...but back then thread was the most popular medium for wires.
  18. well deserved awards, it was exciting watching this come together.
  19. actually, the Tandy 200 had an 8-bit processor and came with 24K RAM that could be upgraded to 72K RAM by adding two DIP RAM chips.
  20. there is NO SUCH THING as too detailed.
  21. you can make it wankel powered, I won't mind.
  22. now we have to add fruit and melons to make our cars go faster? next they'll be adding cheese graters to improve traction. (< sarcasm smiley)
  23. as over the top as the rest of Blastolene creations but it has so many interesting elements...hard to look away
  24. anyone here that is current or former military should talk to USAA about insurance if they are not already insured by USAA. I have had zero problems with them and they seem to be helpful. I used to get phone calls trying to sell me insurance, I told them I have USAA and they either hang up or say "have a nice day".
  25. no one at my job warned me that drainage sux in our parking lot, about 3am I noticed the water was up to the bottom of my drivers door, put on my emergency galoshes and rain coat (trash bags) and went to move the car. turns out I was too late, there was already water sloshing around in all footwells, looks like there are some holes in the bottom of my car that water came in through and which is now slowly draining out of...I can tell by the pools under the car when it sits. now I have to hope it won't mildew before it dries out or I will have to replace the carpet.
