  1. I believe I have seen people reverse the rear spring shackles in order to lower the rear of a car without having to change components. (rotate the rear spring shackles so that the frame hangs down from the rear of the spring rather than being perched above the rear of the spring) perhaps this can be done without messing up the geometry of the rest of the drive train.
  2. for a brief period I was operating under the assumption that the people who post here have what I had assumed was general "car / mechanical knowledge" and therefore should have an idea how things should go together (in general) ... I learned I was mistaken and that there are many levels of knowledge and experience (including no experience at all). Now I tend to ask if a person meant to do something the way that they did it and let them know there may be a better (or better looking) way. I don't recall ever typing that any posted work was substandard... I do recall telling a builder that their transmission had a split personality when a dipstick was added to a manual transmission after the builder took the time to make some kick arse manual linkage. there will always be drama in any online forum, you either deal with it or you miss out on some great info or design/build ideas.
  3. I'd guess the red buttons are for the exhaust "cut-outs"

    1932 Vicky

I like the engine detailing and the photo etch tail lights work well on this. ( I think the front wheel has a caster problem...not camber)
  5. that's a beaut, nice conversion.
  6. perhaps he had a class to hand them out to.
  7. it would be "cooler" if it made that thwop thwop sound when it was driven.
  8. I need to get a few of these from Michaels with 50% off coupons
  9. nah, it was a resin version (one piece) of the revell body. I bet you could do it Bill, you have seen the 34 3-window street rod I built in 1/32 scale...right? I have a bunch of 1/32 scale kits that are gonna get a lot of custom work, including some early 30's mopars and a 34 Ford Vicky.
  10. there is a fairly close 1/32 scale version of the Mark II, I this it's one of the early Revell multi-piece body kits but I've also seen a resin version of just the body.
  11. it would appear that this version of the Blue Bandito is not a 100% faithful repop of the Blue Beetle truck. the original Blue Beetle truck didn't have spoked mag wheels on the front. but since they seem to have the proper set of wheel molds I don't see why they can't / won't repop the "Little Deuce". I have been wishing for a long time that Monogram would sell just these sets of tires/wheels, I have a few projects that need these.
  12. I don't recall typing anything about whimpering or crying. real men say "Ouch, DAMMIT!"
  13. thanks for the info, I was drooling around their site thinking of possible uses for their vintage style wheels and tires.
  14. what scale is this and where did you get the wheels? thanks.
  15. ahh yes... the sharp stabbing pain followed by the dull throb punctuated by the occasional OUCH when you bump it.
  16. I am curious as to the reason the radiator fan is offset lower than center, are there engine obstructions that require that placement? Since you're producing everything else with such precision I'm guessing this is a feature of the 1:1 cars.
  17. my bad, I was looking at it on a small screen.
  18. sure, they say they're committed to quality...they don't say what "kind" of quality.
  19. nice job on adding the front disk brakes. I am curious about whether you will be fabbing an idler arm mount (that bar that is attached to the center link that isn't the pitman arm).
  20. I suggest making it a "phantom" GM corporate design study, add period specific body styling cues depending on which engine you go with. Like maybe a Buick version of a mid-60's rear/mid engine concept car.
  21. I saw one of these kits on ebay, hadn't heard it was ready for public consumption...
  22. Panhandlers lurking around parking lot "automated teller" structures. Fortunately I noticed him scurrying over before I stuck my card into the machine...left asap but couldn't get away before I got the "sob story" about not eating in four days, seemed to be moving pretty spritely for not having eaten in four days. Is there some secret guild of panhandlers in Arizona? Sometimes I see them getting dropped off to their curb or median by a van.
  23. I think "feline resistant" would be a better term, I haven't found anything that was "cat proof" yet.
  24. I still get 50% coupons in email, now I can fill in a few holes in my stash without breaking my piggy bank.
