  1. nice find on the plug wire material. outstanding detail work.
  2. You may have missed my point... which is that the younger crowd likes gadgets and electronics, add some electronics to the mix and you'll have more kids interested...maybe long enough to get hooked on the other aspects of models. a few years ago they made "hopper" kits for lowrider models, I haven't seen any lately so I don't know if that is still an option.
  3. I think this would be classed as "snarkasm", even if it does tend to be uncomfortably close to the truth.
  4. it's so nice of you guys to respond so courteously that you're not interested. Did you guys know that lawyers and law offices pay for models of all types needed to illustrate parts of their cases? (I'm not saying this is for that purpose...but it could be) I wish Jeff luck in his search.
  5. Real Genius "Kent...THIS IS GOD." Waterworld
  6. I've stood close enough to one to see the power plant. I'll get this one as long as my memory doesn't fail me.
  7. nice work on the cowl. fyi, the carb on the 30 yr old engine is on backwards.
  8. then add some railroad smoke stacks so they can do "blackouts" with the monster trucks, or add "fart-can" sound chips to their stanced out Civics.
  9. since they had to hold the wheel brakes till the engine thrust overpowered the tires in order to get the bombers off a "too short" runway... tire squeal may not have been unrealistic unless the squeal happened when the plane lifted from the deck.
  10. I agree with Bruce, if you keep improving at this pace, you'll have a career...not just a hobby.
  11. the vent windows come molded to the doors in this kit, they will have to be corrected if the windshield is corrected.
  12. a 70 GTO kit would be the place to start on your replica.
  13. Making Mr. Right
  14. he might have installed the special optioned "fountain look" wires. nice build.
  15. yeah, most of my kits were manufactured prior to the 90's, that's about the time life made me put my model hobby on hold. (just a few more house projects to finish before I can start up again with my unfinished projects).
  16. hmmm... time to get the sun block-1million out of the nuclear bunker.
  17. a Subway sandwich technician that wanted to charge me extra for putting more than a teaspoon of cheese on my "cheese steak" sammitch!!! I mean really, doesn't the title Cheese Steak give a clue that the customer expects more than a teaspoon of shredded cheddar cheese??!!! Damned sammitch didn't look anything like the menu picture.
  18. I think this has been covered before.... I think you will find that the consensus was that the main issue with that kit is that it's a scaled up version of a 1965 AMT annual kit with all the inherant issues of that time period. Hole in the block for the front axle, etc... Basically, it's an "okay" starting point if you want to make a decent looking large scale Stang.
  19. I have a couple Monogram Citation Turbo kits but I don't know if there were 1:1 turbo Citations
  20. gonna hang a tank from the ceiling?
  21. I was able to get this one using google, even found the exact photo Harry used... I'm not always able to do that though. It usually takes some close guesses on body styles or years to narrow the google search.
  22. that there is some real fine scale modeling that shows knowledge of the subject and the drive to replicate it.
  23. both of these are meh! bring back the timeless classics...make a DB4 with updated running gear. these things look like they belong in Cowboy Bebop.
  24. you need to work on your "google-fu" skills.
  25. okay...just borrowing a line from a different forum... "pics or it didn't happen" (just kidding...but how about some photos)
