  1. outstanding work on this, I really like that you have chosen to engineer your own type of hood hinges. the "dog leg" hinges commonly seen are "so 60's" (and rather unrealistic), it's refreshing to see a new design that appears to be just as easy to construct.
  2. Have you considered that a vessel this advanced looking might have a "jet-drive" rather than a prop? Basically, the engine drives a special water pump assembly that shoots a water jet to propel the craft. Just something to think about.... I'm sure it will look totally rad no matter which way you go.
  3. I hope she comes back to the forum but based on her own posts I'd guess she may have gone on to a different "fascination", I seem to recall she mentioned guitars... It seems a shame, after she acquired and rebuilt a brand new lathe and was right in the middle of a corvette build when she stopped posting.
  4. I see a lot of work and nice features in this build, keep up the good work.

  6. I've seen a "Bradley" sketch of a 1953 roadster with a restyled nose and tail which has a modified 1956 side spear.
  7. the dash turned out great. the chassis looks great too. Will you be connecting a vaccuum line to the power brake booster during final assembly?
  8. nice upgrade, I like the new Challengers more than the new Chargers.
  9. the Citabria looks like a fun plane, what radio/remote will you be using? I would like to see photos when you finish it.
  10. well....since you asked... the seam which is on the top tank of the radiator is not actually present on radiators. The rest of the engine bay is looking real good to me.
  11. I have to second what Casey stated, "it's a good starting point." The 1/16 scale AMT kits are "loaded with opportunities"....meaning the basic shapes are alright but there are so many things that need to be done in order to finish with features that should have been included in a kit this size. I have acquired a few 1/16 scale kits, I'm planning on them taking a while to complete to my satisfaction.
  12. there were classes like "home-eck" where cooking was taught..without these new fangled microwave machines. "space-food sticks" were cool because the astronauts ate them too. the "avon lady" came to your house and sold your mom horrible smelling perfume. Popeye beat the krap out of Bluto every time... there were no crossing guards to make sure everyones little "snowflake" made it to school okay.

    Turbo Topolino

get ready for some straight line mayhem...cause you aint gonna be doin any cornering in that! I totally concur, that is wicked!
  14. based on my own previous research on data recovery, I found the cost of proper software or recovery services to be so high that I ended up just giving up on the lost data. however, there are things you can try if you are handy with computer parts and depending on the failure you might be able to get the data back on your own. if the drive failed due to an overheated component, you might be able to get the drive to work by replacing the circuit board with a board from a drive of the same make/model. not real good odds on this option but it's been known to work. there have been stories of people that sealed their drive in a bag then put it in a freezer for a while then were able to access their data till the drive heated up again. if the drive was in a USB enclosure, it's more likely that the enclosure failed rather than the drive. if the drive was dropped, the most likely you're out of luck....it's not the fall that kills them, it's the landing.
  15. in this situation, I would have just let off on the gas pedal till my car slowed down enough that they would pass me...even if I had to come to a stop. most states have in their "driving laws" a manadatory safe distance that is to be maintained between cars depending on the speed limit, if they're literally on your bumper then they are violating the safe distance rule.

    '52 Chevy

correct, multi-piece body, no chrome in these kits and the hood had to be cut and engine compartment details added.

cool kit bash. I have a stash of 1/32 scale stuff to transform in similar fashion. consider a 1/32 scale 55 Nomad, with the motor from the lindberg ZR1 kit...
  18. I knew it was a microcar, just didn't have the time to find that one.
  19. Congrats on your new freedom. My first "freedom" was in a 1969 Opel Kadette-L, a fun little car. The insurance "problem" seems to be universal (in countries that have insurance), unfortunately, in the current "texting" environment, I doubt rates will drop much for new/young drivers due to a few rotten apples. I'm glad the insurance industry finally got over the unfair fallacy that female drivers are "safer" and therefore get insured for less. Oh yeah, writing in the dirt on your mom's car body actually damages the finish a little by scraping dirt into the top coat. Be nice to your mom's car.
  20. I got a set 1/24 & 1/25 scale set of these from Fab Resinworks, they look awesome!
  21. hey Gregg, are ya gonna make this info into a google calender that can be viewed in this thread?
  22. ah....so many project ideas... so little time
  23. that's an interesting variant of a classic Tom Daniel kit, nice work.
  24. It would be popular in the church of "Saint Flatulence in a Drum".
