  1. the only model I've built and given to a "friend" was used by that person as an entry at a World of Wheels model contest to get into the show for free, the build which was a Datsun pickup with a Trans-Am front end on it placed third in it's class. the guy (for some reason) thought he should get to keep the 3rd place award.
  2. I have the feeling I have seen that steering wheel 1:1... on maybe a Monza or a Skyhawk, maybe a Oldsmobile Chicken Supreme..I mean Cutlass Supreme. A GM performance product but not a Vette.
  3. will the Great Humungous release his dogs of war in this one?
  4. can you create a thread named "Luv Letters" and post them with names and references blanked or changed to the word "Squashy"?
  5. just because the rest of us can't see the pictures doesn't mean you're not going nuts... ...just sayin...
  6. I just can't believe Harry had to mention "cud", it's just possible the sanity of that person can be in a questionable state.
  7. some of us non-Mopar "rivet counters" didn't even notice that glaring discrepancy... outstanding craftsmanship anyway, I've been enjoying this display of your skills and attention to details.
  8. I plan on posting a thread on my project "Pre-Monogram Lil Coffin", here's a link to an example of what I have done previously with a sows ear: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=85335&p=1159792
  9. hey Ira, lacquer thinner melts that kind of foam real easy. you can make grooves rather quickly just by running a brush of thinner where you want your grooves or pits.
  10. actually, I had the same reaction only I was tempted to tell him to set the GTO aside till his sanity returns. I have heard good things about the revell parts pack pontiac engines, I see them on evilbay....4 for $13 and free shipping...sounds like a bargain.
  11. Brandon, for scribing/re-scribing panel and door lines, most builders use one of the following: dental pick back side of an exacto blade (the not sharp side) panel scribers from tamiya or micro mark
  12. I think that Chevy/Charger owner might have a personality disorder.
  13. the Goodguys and an IPMS are the only ones left this year in Arizona that I know of, the rest are all swap meets... you swap money for someone elses stuff.
  14. says MEK substitute right on the can, I got some to see if it will actually work.
  15. and Greg is the winner again. I have a couple of these so I can make the pre-Monogram version.
  16. nope, that's not the one. Hot Wheels was not the maker of the kit I'm hinting at.
  17. yes, we had a Haboob. many trees gave their lives for that Haboob. as Haboobies go, it was a big one.
  18. actually the Little Deuce Coupe was sold as a model kit even though the name "Little Deuce Coupe" or "Silver Sapphire" was not used on the box. The box art clearly shows a model of the Deuce made famous by being on the cover of a Beach Boys album. Any guesses? I have been trying to get one off evil-bay for a while but the bids keep going into the "stupid" range.
  19. the Monogram version of the Lil Coffin is not the first "kitted" version of this car to be sold in plastic. Any guesses on what model kit maker sold a version of the Lil Coffin without using the name Lil Coffin?
  20. I concur...
  21. keep posting the good stuff John, for all we know Ben may be a bot...I got no idea what his post is supposed to mean in this thread.
  22. I recently was only able to find MEK substitue at Home Depot and Ace Hardware. Where did you find real MEK?
