  1. Just came off the bay. Now the dilemma, resoration or leave as is. I do have a set of decals for it in case of resto.
  2. It was a model and it was in sometime in the mid 90's
  3. We used to gather kits and send them to the troops overseas a few years ago. We got a really nice letter thanking us and Skip Samples for getting them together and sending them. They even sent Skip a flag that flew over their base in Afghanistan. They thanked him for all his support and looked forwards to more shipments, but, they had one request. NO MORE NASCAR KITS!!!! Yes, they too had run out of ideas of what to do with them!! Maybe they should have given them to the Taliban to force their surrender! LOL! C'mon! That funny right there!
  4. Those vac-u-form kits are cool! I need to keep an eye out for one.
  5. I am sure you can mod the body to do the Ivo Chassis conversion. He ran two cars with this body. Main differences where color and length Sure, the bodies are a bit different, but, it is a start!
  6. Here is some good reference material! http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=34145 The 429 Ford Shotgun engine was originally built to compete against the Chrysler 426 Hemi. It was great for NASCAR, but, a pain for Drag Racing on Nitro. The Pro Stock guys made it work.
  7. Very cool! All we need now are some scale Gorilaz figures!
  8. It is a small world! Howdy Chris! Yes, Pedro Infante planted himself and a B-24 in a rather unfortunate manner.
  9. ebay is like crack for model builders and collectors!
  10. There is a reason some reviewers use the phrase "Almost Tamiya like" when they write up non Tamiya kits. Tamiya has set the bar pretty hight when it comes to kit design and execution.
  11. Gee, Slugger, maybe you should learn how to read and comprehend yourself. The question from the other thread is: "l was looking at some out of production kits and l was shocked at how much some are. l have never spent but 40 bucks once. l just can't spend alot on a kit no matter how much l want it. Was wondering how much other builders might spend..??"
  12. Crazeeee! Nice!
  13. This thread ask how much it cost, or would cost, to build a kit. The other thread ask how much you would pay for a kit. Example 1: I spent $75 on an out of production Aurora Racing Series Engine kit. Example 2: I spent 25.00 on a resin body, 10.00 on Custom Decals, 25.00 on a donor kit and about 25.00 on paints See the difference?
  14. Back in the early 90's when AMT had the Blueprinter newsletter, they sent out a questionnaire about which kits we would like to see return, On this list was The Piranha Drag team!! What happened? I do not know, but, the Willie Borsche Altered was on it and it got re-released!!
  15. I do remember some 80's commercials from Revell with the Robotech line, but no cars. Revell Germany makes new commercials for their market. I think the opportunity to get new builders was missed during the dark days of the late 80's and early 90's. When some model companies died off and luckily came back, somewhat, as part of other companies. Honestly, I am tired of trying to get people to build models, especially when I am not building! I almost feel like someone handing out literature at the airport! If you are my age or older, you will know what that means. LOL!
  16. Same problem here, using both IE, at work, and Chrome at home. Also, the quote option is does not appear on any postings.
  17. Resin 66 Barracuda body for the Austin Grassi Fuel Funny/Dragster
  18. Seen at Lower Left Coast NNL a couple of weeks ago
  19. This is very educational! This is one to follow!
  20. It will be turning into a niche market. Mostly older guys, us, and a few young folks. Sad part is that this has to be one of the best times to be in this hobby! Oh well, time marches on!
  21. Nice job! That kit is a classic!
