The car hobby can be a giant and beautiful buffet of cars. And just like a buffet, there is stuff you like and stuff you pass, but in the end, it is the same buffet. And now, more than ever, the hobby needs to stick together. The Environmental types are beginning to dictate what does and doesn't go with Gas cars, especially modified or vintage types. In California they have held the line to a certain point, but dark clouds are in the horizon. Some states are more free and loose, but here, we are under siege, and they don't care how cool or not your Gas car is. And to be honest, it gets boring seeing the same thing at certain shows or meets, It is good when something catches your eye, something different, good or bad. So it is ok not to like something, but just take it easy on the hate part. OK, I am done with this thread. I'm out!

Looks like a pack of Tic Tacs!

Yeah, MPC was trying to cash in and did not take everything into consideration. They had lots of Entertainment licenses going and tried their best to cash in. The most successful being the General Lee, and that was a hodge podge of parts.

This thread needs to end the way most threads end around here regardless of the topic , with the discussion about some MOPAR kit they need to make again and how wrong the hub caps are!
-
But they are on the other side! LOL! Yeah, the new ones are neat, but a bit hokey to me. Either way, glad to see it coming back

Hey! It's another "Get Off My Lawn" thread!

Swung by a local Walmart and decided to check their clearance aisle, and this is what I found. They also had a couple of Coca Cola Trailers, but I decided to take the last two car kits. Really wanted only the Vega, but, if I find cheap kits, I snap them up for our Raffle at the next Model Expo show.

I think I like the original decals better than the new ones, by a bunch!

Kit looks pretty accurate! LOL!

The seat is designed for the Ramchargers body, the top is supposed to sit on the body to give it that snapped down vinyl cover look.

Looks like the combined the original and the last decal artwork in the Rams kit. It will be nice to build a more original looking car!

I do hope it does come with Cartograf decals, they are so nice to work with, and would probably be more accurate. My LHS has the Revell AG kits priced quite a bit more than U.S. box style ones. But, I also noticed that the Japanese stuff, at least what has been coming in currently, has dropped in price. The older stock is still a bit high. Maybe they can get their hands on the Fujimi versiona at a lower price, but I would still like the AG version with hopefully better decals.

So are you telling me that European and U.S. version will be priced the same? And my original post said "It Would Be" not "It Will Be"

Eventually it will find its way into a U.S. Revell box and that is when the price becomes more realistic. Kits boxed in the Euro box are always a bit more. And sure, they are currently cheaper in Japan due to the money exchange, but are you going to Japan to get one? How much to ship it to the U.S.? If you are in a hurry for one, then shipping them or buying a Fujimi kit here are the options, otherwise, just wait it out.

It would be more affordable than a Fujimi boxed kit.

And that is exactly what I tried to do with my build. The kit has a few issues, after all, it was just a cobbled up version of the Ramchargers car with a new body, valve covers and decals. The engine is still the HEMI, but this those hideous valve covers. I just chose to do a what if on my build version. My late friend, Skip, made more correct style decals for the car. So I raided the parts boxes and this was the result

Ramchargers Dragster Reissue - Wrong Body
Daddyfink replied to jlucky's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
The Rams dragster became the Milner drag car when they did a tie in to the More American Graffiti movie. Then it got a Coupe body before the kit disappeared for a while. But I guess they must have opened up the Milner gates on the mold. Also, the decals are wrong as well. -
Just watched HPI build his and it made me open my kit and check it, and it actually looks pretty straight.
