  1. Tamiya's Acrylics(gloss) just don't dry hard anymore. They were reformulated and missing for awhile in the early nineties. They have not been the same since. I personally would never use them on a body that needs masked or decalled.
  2. Ken Blocks Mustang for the upcoming Gymkhana 7 video. http://www.motorsport.com/general/photos/main-gallery/?r=8638
  3. Joe, I was talking about him calling Ferrari a loser brand.
  4. William J. you mean that "loser" brand name that is on of the most beloved brand names on the planet. You mean the company who's profits were up 24%.
  5. Andy is right on. You will find it is really nice to have more than one airbrush. The more you try different ones you realize which ones work better with the size of the job and the paint you are using.
  6. I have tried allot over the years but If I could only have one it would be Simichrome Metal Polish
  7. Testors Jet Exhaust is the perfect color for the exhausts.
  8. Take a look at these trigger type dual actions. I have both and they are an absolute joy to use, The green packaged has a .35mm tip and the purple side fed version has a .5mm tip and also has an adapter to use jars. Both cups have lids. They are both around $100 each.
  9. You should take a look at this http://www.amazon.com/Iwata-Side-feed-Trigger-Airbrush-TRN2/dp/B00HJ75NF4/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1414168311&sr=8-6&keywords=neo+for+iwata I have one and it is my favorite. The trigger is an absolute pleasure to use, I wish people would stop pushing the Paasche H. It just is not that great. You will notice the difference with a quality internal mix. The atomization is far superrior. This is especially good for Alclad. Also look at the Paasche Talon set with all three tips.
  10. Before you buy another airbrush read through Don Wheelers excellent sight at this link https://sites.google.com/site/donsairbrushtips/
  11. Apparently nobody http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOYsI1cqUrw
  12. They probably are made from epoxy which turns yellow. I have got them to clear up by letting them in sunlight for a few weeks. I wish somebody would come up with an alternative to use.
  13. That looks like a Badger 175 Crescendo. It should ft a Badger hose or use a Badger adapter to a paasche hose.
  14. Video has now immerg3ed showing the Bianchi crash at Suzuka. He is now listed as stable but serious condition. I am surprised he survived at all. http://www.gptoday.com/full_story/view/503341/Footage_emerges_of_Jules_Bianchis_Japanese_GP_crash/
  15. I bet this was Tamiya TS paints. Some colors are worse then others of causing this. I let them sit an hour or so then gently insert(no stirring) a mixing stick slowly and see if it bubbles. If it does it needs more time. I found TS-13 clear to be the worst offender. I usually use the 1 oz Badger jar and hold it at an angle , I lightly push down on the paint nozzle and spray directly into the jar. Another way is to find a place that sells the paper cone drinking cups(see pic below) and use them as a funnel to spray into the jar.
  16. For anybody thinking about getting a new airbrush check out the new Neo for Iwata TRN-1 and TRN-2 trigger style. They are beautiful tools and a joy to use The trigger is way more controllable and comfortable than the button. The NEOS are designed to work at lower psi. This make them spray ALCLAD and SPAZTIX chrome paints beautifully. The TRN-1 has a .35mm tip and is gravity fed. The TRN-2 has a .50mm and is side feed and has two different size cups. It also has a an adapter that uses standard Badger and Paasche bottles. You will need a Iwata to Paasche hose adapter if using a Paasche hose like I do. The best prices are at chigoairbrushsupply.com around $100 and free shipping.

  18. These two are two of the best ever molded and they were originally done in the late 70's. Both are 1/12th scale.
  19. Great subject, Great model. I think you picked the perfect engine for the Stratos. The only thing might not be correct is the Air plenum/box. It's better to separate the rear deck even if you build it OOB because you do not have to spread the body in the final assembly(note warning in instructions). You can put the chassis in from the back then put the deck on.
  20. I agree Spaztix looks better than Alclad. It doesn't have the blackish cast that Alclad does. It looks like he painted on pieces of ceramic tile.
  21. Yes but the name is not there. Marlboro still sponsors Ferrari's F1 cars. They believe people still associate the red and whit as being Marlboro. The tobacco thing is ridiculous, I agree. below is a picture of the real car. also if you look at the F1 car you envision the Marlboro peak with their Scuderia(team) Ferrari decal
  22. Nice job but Tamiya is fooling you with the masking guides for the white areas. Look at my finished model. The real car had the Marlboro peaks. Some decal has to made for the rear wing to make it correct.
  23. I have seen the putty there but no polish. The packaging looks very similar.
  24. Absolutely brilliant. Kruleworld your collection is awesome. The only addition it needs is Hammonds Oliver. To me anyway Top Gear is the best show on TV ever. God Bless Brtain's three stooges.
  25. Where can you even buy the polish anymore? None of the hobby shops in my area have had it for a few years. Another very good polish is Simichrome that is sold at some motorcycle shops.
