Sorry to say, I love Buicks. But, I have enough of these. It's a nice kit, and hope it sells well (again). (Maybe time to build a full custom? I don't remember if the custom version of this kit is good looking or not?)

Poll : AMT '40 Ford or newer Revell ?
unclescott58 replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The Revell '40s comes with a Columbia 2-speed rear end? Cool! A reason for me to consider one of their kits. Probably the convertible. Unlike Mr. Kron above, I love the idea of the Columbia rear end. Basically the factory authorized overdrive setup for Fords at the time. If purchasing a new Ford at the time, it's an option I would have wanted on my new car. I like the idea Revell including it in its kits. -

You and I were typing our opinions on the Lindberg kit at the same time. You barely beat me in posting your opinion first. I did not see yours until I posted mine, and was asked by the computer/site if I wanted to your latest posting on this thread. -
Poll : AMT '40 Ford or newer Revell ?
unclescott58 replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I agree with Mr. Hall. Apples and oranges. I also agree with Mr. Lazzaroni. I tend to like the simplicity of the old AMT kit. And Mr. Myers mentioned Lindberg's AMT clone. I think that one gets a worst rap than it deserves. It builds and looks okay in the end. -

I'm still waiting for Ertl to do the 1950 Studebaker Starlight coupe they promised us several years ago. Though, rather than a 1950 model, it really should be a '51. The last year of bullet nose, and the first year Studebaker started offering a V8 in their cars. -
The Chevy Open Road Mini Motor Home. One of holy grails. Had one back in 1972. Wish I did today.

I'd like to see politics left out of this thread please. There are other areas here where you can express political opinions.

I'd love get my hands on the Willys Coupe/'32 Ford Sedan kit. I really don't need another Willys. I have plenty of those. But, the Custom '32 Ford Sedan. Now that would be cool! If Round 2 can reissue the '67 Bonneville convertible I'll be very, very happy. Heck, I'd be happy with the hardtop. I'd also like to see the '69 Bonneville hardtop with the Canoe come back. MPC use to put some pretty cool and interesting extra goodies, in with their kits.

Look in the Kits Under Glass section. I'm sure you'll find one or two. -
Oooh, I might have an issue
unclescott58 replied to The Junkman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The early versions of this kit had seperate parts for the outside headlights. The later ones the outer headlights molded into the body, and had to painted in. In my opinion, the earlier versions looked a lot better. The headlamps matched better. I think we have Matchbox to thank for the modifications made to this kit. -
I like the looks of that ☝️!

A good '57 Nomad would be cool too.

Wouldn't that be cool ☝️!

The '71 Riv and '73 LeMans above would be cool. I'd prefer a '72 in the case of the Riv. In either case, it should be a Riviera with the GS package. With the LeMans Sport, I'd hope it would have the parts to do the GTO option version. We need more 70's stuff. Another odd ball I'd like to see, would be a '79 Chrysler Córdoba with the 300 option. Or how about a '78 or '79 Dodge Magnum. These two may not have been fast cars. But, they sure looked cool. Two others. How about a Ford Granada or Mercury Monarch? Preferably with the round headlamps. And a '77 or '78 Chrysler LeBaron?

Revell Reissued 57 Chevy Black Widow wrong body ?
unclescott58 replied to kingiguana's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Sad to say, the '57 Chevy Black Widow kits with the wrong body are still floating around out there. I got one in the mail today. I've immediately put in a request to Revell for a correct body. Knowing Revell, I'm sure they'll take care of the problem. It was just a little disappointing to open the box and see a Bel Air 2-door sedan, rather than correct 150 2-door (utility) sedan. Everything else in the box looks okay. The seats, door panels, and dash look correct for a '57 Chevy 150 Utility Sedan. It's just the body that's wrong. -
Hey?! I just opened my '57 Chevy Black Widow kit. And guess what? It's got the '57 Bel Air 2-door post body in the kit. Not the 150! I'm not happy with that. Time to contact Revell, and get a correct body.

In today's mail I got Revell's '57 Chevy Black Widow 2'n1 kit. My plans are to take the fuel injection setup from that kit and instal it in Revell's '57 Chevy Convertible I got a week or two ago. I'll then build the Black Widow as a standard 150 Utility Sedan with the stock single carburetor setup.

In seeing the eye doctor this morning, he told me that my left eye, done three weeks ago today, that I'm see at 20/25 with it. Too early to say about the right. Though I thinking I'm already seeing better than that with my right eye. My reading vision has gone away with the operation. I'm now using cheap cheaters for that. So will I still need bifocals? Or can I get by with just reading glasses for now? Time will tell. I have my next appointment with the eye doctor two weeks from today.

Got the right eye fixed yesterday. Things again went great. But now I need reading glasses. Me distance eye site is now very good. Still, it maybe better with glasses. So I may still need bifocals. Oh well. The surgery did improve things, a lot! Life is good.

In England? Cool!

Speaking of Firebirds. Where Monogram's 1970 Trans Am? It's been a long time since we've seen that kit.

A member at our MCCM meeting last night, claims that the '57 Ranchero is coming for sure, too. I'm excited. I love the fantasy box art kits people are posting above. I too want most of the shown above done as real kits. The model companies seem to have lost steam in offering new releases back in the 70's. There many great cars they missed making models of. Hopefully, that will change in the near future. But, only if we show interest in such things by buying things like Revell's '76 Torino kit. Looking at responses I'm seeing here, on the threads on that kit, I'm not holding my breath. Interest in the '76 Torino seems low.
