  1. Waiting for Stroker McGlurk. Scott
  2. Dito. That would be cool. Scott
  3. Another one I built recently. Again not a bad kit. I just had to fill in the lines for the t-top. Because I have never liked t-tops. Built AMT's '68 Roadrunner at the same time, in the same color combinations. For bookend Roadrunners. Scott
  4. Just built the Lindberg Chevy 2-door a few weeks ago. Over all not a bad kit. I had fun with it. The model seems a little small for 1/32 scale. But that's okay. I'd love to find the station wagon. Scott
  5. Another great review. As you know, I too love these losers. Keep them coming. Scott
  6. Very nice. I can smell the salt air. Scott
  7. Nice job. Always fun to see this type of kit. I love them. Scott
  8. What is the tallest building in the world? The library. It has thousands of stories. Scott
  9. What does a Frog do when his car breaks down? He gets it Toad. Scott
  10. Interesting stories Art. I love reading things like that. And nice models Gerald. Scott
  11. Beautiful. I love those old classics. Scott
  12. Very nice looking car. I'm surprised to hear they are still in business? Anybody know what's now being used as a power plant? Is it Subaru like several of the modren dune buggys out there? Scott
  13. Again what does this have to do with AMT's '60 Ford? Buy the Mercury kit, and start a thread about it. Scott
  14. Yea and are they both sister/look like cars because they have four wheels? Just because the boxes look somewhat alike (and I question that) doesn't mean that the contents are necessarily the same. True they are both put out by AMT and made of styrene plastic. But, so is just about everything put out under the AMT label. The '64 Mercury kit is an old kit tooled up in the 60's. The present '60 Starliner was kit tooled up in the 1990's. It's a much more detailed and modern kit design. The original 1960 Starliner kit tooled up back in 1959 is long gone. That's why the modern replacement, which is being reissued now, was made. From reading your comments here and in other threads here, I think you need to learn more about model cars and their history before making the comments you do. Or at least ask questions if you don't about something as a fact. Scott
  15. Every Monday night some friends and I get together for dinner. One of those friends, Dr. Bob, is a car guy. But, not a model building car guy. At the same time Bob will pickup different things at swap meetings that he knows I'd be interested in. At a swap meet recently he came across a vendor who had tied up bundles of magazines for $5.00 a bundle. One of the bundles had 34 Rod and Custom magazines dating from 1962 through 1965. He thought they might interest me because of the amount of model car content he knew was in those particular issues. Boy! Was he right about that. I found it especially ironic considering the discussions about those exact magazines on this thread. He says all 34 magazines were in very good shape. Only one has a ripped cover. There are no repeats. They do have a slightly musty smell. And I could have them for the $5.00 he paid for them. But, only after he's done reading them. Needless to say, I gave the $5.00 right there on the spot. As we were leaving, he indicated I could really pick them anytime, as he was already done looking at them. So sometime in the next couple of days, I'll have to stop by his house and pick them up. How cool is that? Again, especially the we've been having a discussion here about those exact magazines. Scott
  16. Happy to say, I won the auction on eBay last night for the book Here is Your Hobby, Car Customizing. Ex Los Angles County Library copy. So it has a little use on it. But, the photos the buyer showed, it didn't look to bad. And the price was right. I got in for about $30.00 with shipping. Looking forward to getting that, plus the new, old stock, copy of Here is Your Hobby, Model Car Building I purchased off of ABE Books late this last week. Eventually I'll have to hunt down a copy of Here is Your Hobby, Slot Car Racing. It's always fun to get pleasant parts of ones childhood back. Scott
  17. I'm waiting for ICM to do their Packard in either 1/25 or 1/24 scale. 1/35 is a little odd. I thought I heard rumors not that long ago, they were going to offer their Packard in a more common scale? Scott
  18. A classic. Even though it was published in the early 1960's. A fun look at the modeling scene at the time. Scott
  19. Beautiful build. I like the color combination. Much better than I would have expected. Scott
