  1. I did look it up. And I found nothing to back your claim. But it does sound like your background in the Norwegian language is deeper than mine. I was raised by a mother who grew up in Norway. We were very active in Sons of Norway. And I went to Concordia College's Norwegian language camp, 2 years in a row. Though I've have never been to Norway, and I'm not very good at learning other languages. But, with humour of our local Son of Norway members, especially when they've been drinking, you would have thought I would have heard about that one before.
  2. I bought the last reissue of the 1/16 scale '63 Vette recently. I couldn't wait any longer, and the price got it at was very good. They teased us about bring back the Vending Machine a couple of years ago? I missed that one. I wonder what stopped them from going through with it?
  3. I've always liked the "bowling ball" wheels. They looked very modern and high tech at the time.
  4. That's the one. To go from the original Coke-Cola version to the Pepsi-Cola version was only a matter of different decals. So why not offer that kit with Mountain Dew or other decals. Round 2 is good at that type of thing. Look at the latest release of the AMT '23 Model T delivery, with the decals for all the different Nestle candies. Do the same thing with the Vending Machine. Hopefully it will be with PepsiCo since they own the rights to Mountain Dew. I got the 2017 Auto World catalog in the mail today. In the inside back cover, they show the new Auto World exclusive kit coming out later this year. In November 2016 they will be bringing back the AMT Streetle Beetle, in a limited run of 500 kits. This is a kit I've been hoping to see reissued again. I think it's only been on the market one time in the past, back in the mid-1970's. My buying power being what it was back then, it would not have been on my radar at the time. But now things are a little different, and I'm hoping to get my hands on one.
  5. This afternoon the mail delivery person dropped off the new 2017 Auto World catalog. The latest issue of CARtoons. #5, Sept/Oct. And an Auto World 1/64 scale 1966 Mercury Comet Cyclone, that ordered from a vendor on eBay. The other day I got a great book in the mail. The International Scout Encyclopedia by, Jim Allen and John Glacy. Everything one could need to know about the history of the IH Scout. I'm almost finished that book already. It's that good. Since I've got some good reading to do, between the book, magazine, and catalog, I'll not be making any more comments here for next couple of hours.
  6. Not true. The Norwegian word for marriage is "ekteskap". The Norwegian word for poison is "gift". And I'm not kidding about that. It's gift. So marriage and poison are not the same in the Norwegian language.
  7. Happy Birthday Tom!
  8. I hope there is more to the seat back of the back seat than we're seeing here.
  9. I'm hoping they consider reissuing the MPC Vending Machine in the near future. I want to do another Moutain Dew themed vehicle if I can.
  10. The heck with selling it to you. He should give it to me for free. After all, I am the nicest guy you all know. Right? ?
  11. I've always loved cars. My mother wrote in my "baby book" that when I was about a year or two old I had a toy Buick that I had to take with me everywhere. She couldn't understand it. I had much nicer toys. But, loved that cheap little toy Buick. I remember my dad building a red plastic model of what looked like a Grand Prix or Indy car from the 1950's when I was about 4 years old. I also remember visiting cousins who were into building models. It may have been my interest in those that got my mother to buy and teach me how to build models. I was about 6 years old when she and I built our first model kits. ( I'm sure this was her first and only time building models.) Two Aurora kits and one airplane. The two Aurora kits were Frankenstein's Fliver and Dracula's Dragster. (Besides cars, I loved those old Universal monsters.) The plane was a Me262. Which in retrospect surprises me. My mother was born in Norway and lived through the Nazi occupation of that country. She hated anything dealing with that subject. So the Me262 is a bit of a surprise in retrospect. A couple of things I remember about those first kits. Painting Frankenstein's head and hands green. Painting the heart and blood in a cup Dracula had red. And Frankenstein having a yo-yo on a string attached to his one outstretched hand. I also remember putting way too much glue in one of the engines of the Me262. The engine became soft and pliable. And touching it later ruined it's shape. The next kit was a '64 or '65 Corvette coupe. I did most of the work with my dad supervising. I then lose track of exactly what I build when after that. I built a lot of kits through out the late 1960's and early 70's. Many I remember and wish I had today. I'm pretty sure my mother threw out all my models when I joined the Navy right after high school. But, I never truly lost interest. I've been building models pretty much my entire adult life too.
  12. Stunning looking Model A coupe. Just lovely. It would be nice to this kit back on shelves at our local hobby stores. Or better yet, the cabriolet version.
  13. Any follow up on this? Especially how to install part #37 correctly?
  14. Robert, the chassis on AMT's Pacer wagon is more like their Gremlin kits. Seperate exhaust and a little more under the hood detail. One Warning: The kit has metal axles. Personally I don't mind them, but I know some people do. I like the fact that not only is a different year and body style from the MPC kit, it also modeled on a different trim level. AMT's Pacer represents a D/L model with the wider indivual front seats. The MPC kit comes with the bucket seats that were included with the Pacer X. Both kits have AMC sixes under their hood. They both come with the same style factory optional wheels (in stock form). But, with slots opened up on the AMT version, I like their's a little bit better. It amazes and pleases me to no end that we have Pacer model kits back on the market. I've always kind of liked the ugly little things. The wagon better than the coupe. The early front end versus the later front end. Despite that, I was very pleased when Round 2 reissued the MPC '78 coupe. Now I'm even more please Round 2 has give us the AMT '77 wagon version too.
  15. I would love buy the kit, especially with the original style box art with all the old parts back. I don't need another Model A. But, that wouldn't stop me from buying another Model A.
  16. Today got AMT's '77 Pacer wagon and MPC's Pinto wagon. Started doing some subassembly on the Pacer. I'm really liking what I seeing.
  17. Roy G Biv? Other than the puzzle I posted, I've never heard of Roy G Biv. What is it? And how does it relate to models?
  18. BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH autocorrect. I've gone back and fix that. Thank for pointing it out Snake.
  19. After seeing the above, and hearing that the correct decals are not in it, I'll probably be passing on this one. Plus that and of the lack of factory aluminum slotted wheels are a bit of a disappointment. Does anybody know if the original release came with proper decals? And what it had for stock wheels?
  20. Subbed two days in a row at my favorite school. Spring Lake Park High School. Both the staff and the kids are great there. It was great to be back.

  22. Why did the hamburger go to the gym? So he could get better buns.
  23. Sorry to say, I think it's a boring looking ship. But it doesn't have to be beautiful if it gets the job done.
