  1. Thank you for the review Dave. I'm very happy with this kit. I've already got the Mod Rod version done. I built mine to look like the red one on the one side of the box. It turned out fairly nice. Now to go finish the other as the old fashion racer as shown on on the same box end. This kit is a box full of fun. I have art box version and I love it. I found it to be a great kit.
  2. Thanks Charlie, but I've already filled mine in with Testors putty. And I'm already finished with the sanding. I just need to shoot some primer to make sure things turned out as good as they are looking.
  3. I do understand all of that. It may have been an impressive feat, but I found it boring to watch. It is okay that you did not find it boring and liked it. It is also okay that we do agree on this.
  4. Sorry to say, I found it boring to watch.
  5. Can this stuff be used in blowing up stuff? I use to blow up model cars. So this maybe a link to model car building.
  6. Wow! Looks good. This is been a kit I've been interested in for years. It looks like S10man did a great job on his.
  7. Tim not all of us have access to back copies of every model car magazine. Since its been 33 years since that article was published, maybe it's time for you to do an updated version of it. I know I would love to see it. Your knowledge and writing are always worth reading.
  8. Oh I'm okay with the topic. And it in right place. I'm just looking for away to relate to it. ?
  9. We got to see Nibiru in the movie Star Trek Into Darkness. The planet with the volcano and white crusty people at the beginning of the movie. I've always wondered how many caught that, and understood where that name came from?
  10. How does effect my model building? Is it something I really need to worry about?
  11. The more I see of Volares and Aspens, the better I like them. I've always like the '76 and '77 Volares and Aspens. But, I never really liked the new grilles for either of in '78 and '79. And the new taillights were even worst. The 1980s front end was a big improvement over the previous two years. But, still I wasn't overly thrilled with it at the time. As time goes by, I still like the '76 and '77s a lot. The 1980s versions have gotten better in time IMO. The '78 - '79s? I'm still not fond of them. Though they are not as ugly as I remember them to be either. The taillights on all post '77 Volares and Aspens are terrible to this day. Bland, boring, and too plasticee looking. The other thing I like are the '76 and '77s Volare Road Runners and Aspen R/Ts without the spoilers, wheel flares, and window louvers. '79 was the worst year for both option packages. 1980 they cleaned them up a lot. Though I still have mixed feeling about the spoilers on those. Okay enough said for now about that. Time to go sand those t-top roof seams away.
  12. I've got both the new Spy Car version, and the Buyer's Choice drag version from the early 2000's. Here's my delema with these two kits. Matching exterior paint colors. I only paint with rattle cans. So I'm wondering what comes close in a rattle cans to match the color of each car? The Spy Car not as tough I believe as matching the color of the drag car. The drag car is an odd very light yellow/gold. Anybody out there with any suggestions on this. The Buyer's Choice version of the drag car came with terrible decals. I bought some aftermarket replacements. But, it looks like spy version has most, if not all the correct decals for the drag car. Thanks Round 2. They always go that extra mile with their reissues. Something Ertl did not do, even with their Buyer's Choice kits. Two very cool cars in real life. And two very cool models representing them.
  13. Shame on you. I thought I was the only one allowed to make mistakes like that.
  14. I would love to know if Round 2 has the molds for this one. And could it be reissued? I've always thought it was the coolest car ever raced at Indy.
  15. The answer to it all is 42.
  16. I like that. That's funny. ?
  17. Interesting, the comments about Revell's '57 Nomad being bad. I've heard this before. I've built at least two of these over the years. One in the very early 1970's. One later on, near the end of that same decade. True it was a more difficult kit to build compared to the common AMT and MPC kits of time. But, I don't remember having any major problems building that first one. The second one? I do remember having a little more difficulties with that one for some reason. Yet I don't remember why. The lack of a good '57 Nomad in 1/25 (or 1/24) scale baffles me. This is a kit I would think would sell like hot cakes. It seems like everybody loves the '57 Chev. And Nomad has been popular since they quit building the real ones back in the day. So where is this kit?
  18. I heard a ad on the radio yesterday that there might be a new Hobby Town in one of the Twin Cities southern suburbs? I was at work at O'Reilly's at the time, working with a customer, so I really couldn't pay too close attention to the ad. A new hobby shop opening up? This seems like good news.
  19. Too bad more people don't live in harmony with others because of their spiritual beliefs. They say that God will judge all in the end. So why do I need to worry about it until then? (Boy, I hope I'm not opening up can of worms with that one. That is not my intention.) I need to live my life to best that I can. And hope God forgives me and the other pathetic little creatures I share this world with. And please don't tell me about your religious beliefs that your deity has already forgiven my sins. I already agree with that. But, forgiven or not, I don't feel it's my right to judge others if their religious or moral beliefs are different from mine. As long as it doesn't harm me or others. Again it's God's right to judge in the end. Whom ever that God maybe.
  20. This is always a good one. But, I thought it was rule number 86? ?
  21. Was the guy doing the video joking? I suspect not. And that's the problem. This type of stuff seriously scares a lot people. Like some of the kids I work with. And when I was younger it use to scare me. I've had several talks, especially during the Myan/2012 end of the world predictions, with kids who were worried that it was going to be true. I assured them that I've been though serval of these "end of the world" predictions before. And I'm still here. If I remember correctly, I think people were saying the world was going to end on December 21, 2012 in that one? I remember it was going to be in the middle of week, with school scheduled for the next day. I told the kids that despite the apocalypse on that date, I planned on coming to work the next day. By the way, here is my theory of why the Myan calendar ended in 2012. The Myan's ran out swim suit models for their calendar. That's what happens when you sacrifice too many of them to the gods! ?
  22. Boring! ?? I should be pretty safe. But, then again I'm not really worried about it. There are always people predicting the end of world.
  23. With all of this talk about the Milner coupe, which kit best represents the car straight out of the box? MPC's? Revell's? Who's? I know neither the MPC or Revell one is perfect. But, is one better than the other? Or is there something else even better out there?
