  1. Wow! I like it.
  2. I like it.
  3. Looks good to me.
  4. I know Keith Marks makes the correct '73 stripes for this kit. He might also have the correct Mustang script with the stripes.
  5. Why are you posting under Car Kit News & Reviews?
  6. Do we have a list of these kits? The only one I own has the Hurst Olds, the '69 Barracuda, and '69 Torino in it. At one time I had one with the '37 Chevy Coupe, '40 Ford Sedan Delivery, and I believe a '34 (?) Ford Coupe.
  7. Darn Art, I was hoping you were going to sound in here with more info on the history of this kit. Especially the Diamond in the Rough version. Scott Aho
  8. I wish the photos were still up. I'd love to the model.
  9. Very cool! Another good thread on Scout model kits. Again, I'd like to know about these kits and their different variations. I'm assuming from the grille and Rallye stripes, the last reissue of the Scout kit is a '78?
  10. I love Scouts. Anybody know the full history of Ertl, later AMT Scout kits? What year does last version of the kit represent? I think it's a 1978, but I'm not sure.
  11. Any chance we can see photos of the Diamond in the Rough version? I'd love to see the difference between that and other '39/'40 Ford Sedan kits. It's interesting that this version was only offere once. I wonder where the tooling is for that kit?
  12. I never had the Diamond in the Rough '40 Ford. Did they do anything special to make it look beat up (dented fenders, broken glass, etc)? If they did make special parts for that kit in that release, it would be interesting to see it reissued that way.
  13. Fun to see the Fast Buck and compare it to the Jinx Express I'm in process of finishing up. By the way, the combination for the safe door is, R-1, L-36, R-19. It's also stamped in the bulkhead above the driver seat.
  14. Did real Road Runners in '68 come with bigger tires than those in that time period? 60-15s seem awfully big for any car coming from the factory back then. Most cars ran on 78s then. 70s were considered pretty wide tires at the time.
  15. Interesting that you brought up the Aeronca Champion Art. My dad use to own a real one. So I kind of have a soft spot for the Champ.
  16. I did look it up. And I found nothing to back your claim. But it does sound like your background in the Norwegian language is deeper than mine. I was raised by a mother who grew up in Norway. We were very active in Sons of Norway. And I went to Concordia College's Norwegian language camp, 2 years in a row. Though I've have never been to Norway, and I'm not very good at learning other languages. But, with humour of our local Son of Norway members, especially when they've been drinking, you would have thought I would have heard about that one before.
  17. I bought the last reissue of the 1/16 scale '63 Vette recently. I couldn't wait any longer, and the price got it at was very good. They teased us about bring back the Vending Machine a couple of years ago? I missed that one. I wonder what stopped them from going through with it?
  18. I've always liked the "bowling ball" wheels. They looked very modern and high tech at the time.
  19. That's the one. To go from the original Coke-Cola version to the Pepsi-Cola version was only a matter of different decals. So why not offer that kit with Mountain Dew or other decals. Round 2 is good at that type of thing. Look at the latest release of the AMT '23 Model T delivery, with the decals for all the different Nestle candies. Do the same thing with the Vending Machine. Hopefully it will be with PepsiCo since they own the rights to Mountain Dew. I got the 2017 Auto World catalog in the mail today. In the inside back cover, they show the new Auto World exclusive kit coming out later this year. In November 2016 they will be bringing back the AMT Streetle Beetle, in a limited run of 500 kits. This is a kit I've been hoping to see reissued again. I think it's only been on the market one time in the past, back in the mid-1970's. My buying power being what it was back then, it would not have been on my radar at the time. But now things are a little different, and I'm hoping to get my hands on one.
  20. This afternoon the mail delivery person dropped off the new 2017 Auto World catalog. The latest issue of CARtoons. #5, Sept/Oct. And an Auto World 1/64 scale 1966 Mercury Comet Cyclone, that ordered from a vendor on eBay. The other day I got a great book in the mail. The International Scout Encyclopedia by, Jim Allen and John Glacy. Everything one could need to know about the history of the IH Scout. I'm almost finished that book already. It's that good. Since I've got some good reading to do, between the book, magazine, and catalog, I'll not be making any more comments here for next couple of hours.
  21. Not true. The Norwegian word for marriage is "ekteskap". The Norwegian word for poison is "gift". And I'm not kidding about that. It's gift. So marriage and poison are not the same in the Norwegian language.
  22. Happy Birthday Tom!
  23. I hope there is more to the seat back of the back seat than we're seeing here.
  24. I'm hoping they consider reissuing the MPC Vending Machine in the near future. I want to do another Moutain Dew themed vehicle if I can.
