  1. Good looking model. Is this kit really the turd everybody says it is? Or is it just an old tool, that is not as nice as recently tooled up kits, like Revell's '66 GTO? Seems like more than a few guys here, including Cliff here, have built some decent looking '67 GTOs from this kit.
  2. I like the paint. Very nice.
  3. Wow! Not my style in general. But, I like it. Very impressive build.
  4. As I've noted before, the Kat from AMT is cool. And I'm glad I got one.
  5. I have never even heard of this company. What did they produce, model wise?
  6. I don't know if this is the place to bring this up or not. But, I'm still waiting for Round 2 to release the '71 Dodge Demon that there was talk about a few years back.
  7. There are two thread here had goes into explaining this. Both are very good threads, that maybe need to be linked in someway to/from this one. Something, I'm afraid I do not know how to do.
  8. I agree with you 100% on the 3800. One of GM's best engine designs ever. With my LeSabre I get low 20's around town. And a consistent 30 mpg on the highway. Who can complain about that? And so far my car is showing very little rust. The only real problem I've had with rust, is one spot where the car was damaged in an accident years ago and repaired. There are also signs below the gas filler. Not really rust yet. But, I fixed it before it could getting going there. An area were one commonly sees problems on this car. I love my LeSabre. And as noted above, I have one of the greatest mechanics in the world taking care of it. I see no reason why I shouldn't be driving this same car 16 years from now.
  9. Sorry to hear about your electrical problems. They sometimes can be hard to find right away. And, yea I'm not giving up my present mechanic for anything. He's not only relatively cheap. But he's very good. The first time I meet him about eight years ago, I was having a minor, but irritating problem with the same car. I know a little bit about fixing the old stuff. But, very little about the new. Another car buddy brought me over to meet this mechanic. We told him the symptoms, and speculated on the cures. He turned to us, and told us both that we did know what we were talking about, and he knew exactly what the problem was and how to fix it. And guess what? He did! He fixed it quickly and cheaply. I've been sold on him ever since. I've had such great experiences with this mechanic since. He fixes things right the first time, at a price I can afford. I've ended up sending several friends to him. They've all had the same experience with him. Plus, he's an interesting guy to just sit around and talk with. A little opinionated, and not afraid to disagree with you. And I may disagree with him on several things. But, I like and respect him. Plus his wife, who works in the office of his shop, is sweet lady, who is always pleasant to talk with too. What more can one ask for?
  10. Had to leave my car at my mechanic's tonight for what he figures will be just over $1,100 worth of work. And he's the best and cheapest mechanic I know. For that price, the old Buick is getting a new water pump, serpentine belt, valve cover and intake manifold gaskets, plus a new plastic intake plenum. Not bad for a car with 122,000 miles on it, that still runs great. It's a 2000 LeSabre with the 3800 V-6. Overall it's been a cheap car to keep running. This is the first real major work, if you can call it that, made to the engine. So I really shouldn't complain. Still, a nice chunk of change I was hoping not to spend. Thankfully I finished my Christmas shopping this year, before Thanksgiving. So, it won't be as big of a burden as it could be at this time of year. Hard to beleive my Buick is now 16 years old. It still runs and looks great. I'm hoping it can go at least 16 years before I need to replace it. I'm that happy with the car.
  11. I'll be honest. I'm a little offended by the above pizza/gynecologist joke. I'm not prude by any means. I do like a clever sexual joke from time to time. But the above seems a little crude. And It's not really "corny" in the true sense of the word. I do like that the jokes here have remained generally clean.
  12. Another good one Greg. Thanks again.
  13. Bummer! I was all excited seeing the tag for this thread. A 1970 Charger! Then to find out its AMT's '71 Charger. A very nice kit. But, not a '70.
  14. ????? Interesting? To a point. But, what is the point? Of coarse there would be several different variations of this axle made. Each kit for the most part would have parts designed specifically for that kits tool/die. With a rear end as popular as this one, I'd expect to see many different versions of it.
  15. Totally off subject. But, Brett's icon (or what ever you call) reminds me that Dr. Strangelove was on TV tonight. Still a great movie. It's now being followed up with the movie Fail Safe on the same channel. A good movie. But not where near as good as Dr. Strangelove.
  16. Ditto! The best of all worlds in this kit. Two different grilles, the two different hoods, the soft top and top down boot. Plus Linda Vaughn figure. What's not to like?
  17. My mistake. You are right. The original release of the Hurst car does indicate you could built as a regular 4-4-2. They did make a mistake. Thankfully they've corrected it now.
  18. Just looked at the prestige version of the '61 Pontiac brochure. They only show bucket seats in a Bonneville. But, on the page dealing with options, they state that bucket seats are available on the Bonneville convertible. Then in parentheses below that, they state that bucket seats can be special ordered on all '61 Pontiacs at extra cost. So the buckets are a go for me for sure.
  19. I went back and read the review/thread on the Moebuis Fords. I can see from the posts on the '69, it's a bit off. But, for me it's not far enough off that it looks wrong to me until it's pointed out. For what ever reason, I guess I just not picky enough. And that's not to put down those who are. But, for me, everything Moebius has done so far has delighted me. They are not like Trumpeter kits or others that I can see the flaws right away. By the way, my Dad had a '69 Sport Custom. Have fond memories of that truck. Again, I'm looking forward to Moebius' '61 Ventura. And to my eyes, everything looks good in the photos I'm seeing. I am wondering? Were bucket seats optional in that year's Ventura? I know they were for the Bonneville. But, for the Ventura I'm not so sure. I'll have to do a little research. But, whether bucket are a correct option or not. I'll be building my Ventura with them. I like buckets much better than benches.
  20. How did they put the wrong grille in the kit? The original releases of both the Hurst and the Supreme had the correct grilles for those models. It's just that some of us liked the looks of the 4-4-2 better than those two. So now they're offering us the option of building a 4-4-2. But, this is not to correct a mistake to the original kits. They had the correct grilles for what they represented.
  21. One hit wonders? Was that first one you posted Harry, or the Hazel O Conner song above ever hits? I've heard the rest of them and would agree. But, those two I just referred to?
  22. How about a resin? Is there one of this car out there?
  23. What's wrong with which Moebuis F100 grille? I have both kits. And they both look good to me.
  24. Good news. This reissue can now be built as a regular 4-4-2, besides the Hurst version. Revell is now including correct 4-4-2 grille and stripes. Linda Vaughan and a regular 4-4-2 version. This is now on my must have list, for sure.
  25. Post some pictures!
