  1. All right! The grille was my main reason for not buying this kit or the Supreme convertible in their first outings. That grille was always too formal. Representative of a luxury car, rather than a sporty car. Now with the true 4-4-2 grille and proper stripes, I'll be for sure buying this one.
  2. I'm kind of sorry I mentioned the missing axle. I want to hear more people's opinions on the kit itself. Which again, after opening the box, I was very please with what I found. This should build into very nice model of a '63 Corvette convertible in the end. I especially love the two tops. The soft and removable hardtop. i don't think replacement axles are that big of a problem.
  3. Again thanks to Tim for showing us detailed photos of this kit. And thanks to Dave and the others at Moebuis for turning out such a great kit. My only real worry about this kits when seeing photos of the test shots, were the 8 lug wheels. In Tim's photographs they look great. I'm very pleased. Another home run, as far as I'm concerned, from Moebuis.
  4. The '72 Hurst Olds, the Cutlass Supreme, and Vista Cruiser came with the same grilles. An egg crate design. The other 1972 non Supremes, and non 4-4-2 equipped Cutlasses came with horizontal bar for the grille. Only the 4-4-2 option packaged came with a fine mesh grille. So are we getting the regular 4-4-2 grille with this reissue? I hope so. The one thing I don't like about the '72 Hurst and Supreme cars is the grille.
  5. I got one a few weeks ago too. The Kat has always been kool. When Round 2/Auto World offered this on line I couldn't resist.
  6. The missing axle is not a big deal guys. I'm sure I have extras laying around.
  7. Dennis, your kit is missing a lot parts to build a nice model of a '64 Impala. ? You'll need a body, chassis, and interior. ?
  8. Okay. I went to MCW resin site. It's no Modelhaus. But, good enough to add a book mark for future reference. Once the holidays are over, I may have to pick up one of their '50 fastback Olds bodies. That's the car my parents had when they drove me home from the hospital. I bought the Revell kit several years ago and have done nothing with it. Maybe MCW's fastback will get me motivated to finish one.
  9. Wow! Fast response. Thank you. Now to go see what they have.
  10. Great box art! Sometimes I'll buy a kit I'm not all that interested, because the box art so cool. Presently I don't need or want another '64 Impala. But, if that box showed up on the shelves, I'd being spending the money.
  11. Who is MCW? Anybody have a link to their site?
  12. Yup! It's still funny. Thank for posting the link. Even though I knew what was going to happen, I forget the small details. Les' description is as funny as ever.
  13. The gas tank was under the cargo floor right behind the driver's seat. That's why the gas filler was right behind the driver's door. The spare tire basically fit where the gas tank is on the model.
  14. Got my sealed Prestige '63 Corvette convertible in the mail today. Opened the box and was very happy with what I found. Everything was in great shape. The tampo printed tires are perfectly centered. Only one minor problem. It only came with one metal axle. Two are required. Not a major problem. I'm sure I have extras.
  15. Had a nice Thanksgiving. One thing my niece who hosts it does that's very nice, is at each of our dinner plates is small round piece of paper with a loop of string atached. On this paper your to write what your thankful for this year. After dinner we go around the table reading what we wrote, and then she hangs each one on her "Thanksgiving Tree." Which is little more than a small bare branch sticking out of flower pot. Somehow writing your thankfulness down, then hanging of her "Thanksgiving Tree" makes it more real and gives it more substance, than just going around table and saying it for us. I'm also very greatfull we did not get the snow that they were predicting for yesterday. Rather 1 to 2 inches as predicted. We just got nice dusting. A perfect snowfall that made things like the lawns look pretty. But, melted off the roads and sidewalks as it came down. So there was no need for the snowblower or the shovel. Cars parked outside earlier that morning required a snow brush. But, mine was in the garage, so I didn't even have to do that. Later that night stopped by some friends to say hi. They were planning watching a movie and invited me to stay. Their boys recommended a film called "Hotfuzz". Starring Simon Pegg. It's was a little graphic in it's depiction of violence. But, a funny movie overall. A lot of good Brittish humor, of the type I like. So yesterday turned out to be another Thaksgiving with lots to be thankful for. Now off to my second job at the auto parts store, for the next 2 days. Which is always pretty fun, and I'm grateful for too.
  16. My first ride would have been in the family's '50 Oldsmobile 88, 2-door fastback. The first I remember soon what well, was my folk's '55 Super '88. Our family's first new car was a bare bones, heater the only option, 1961 Comet.
  17. We were very lucky. No where near the snow they predicted. A nice dusting. Little more. Sidewalks, driveways, and streets were warm enough to keep the snow melted. So no need for the snowblower or shovel. Turned out a lot better than expected!
  18. The best WKRP episode ever. Nesman's report from the scene is still funny.
  19. Waiting to see this combo done. From what I'm seeing so far, it looks great. I'm looking forward to seeing what you end up doing with the Suburban.
  20. Wow! Very nice. Any pictures of the interior?
