  1. The Daisy Duke version (cardboard box, I don't know about the tin) came with an incomplete set of decals. No Roadrunners! You to go to someone else for correct decals. I got mine from Keith Marks. So if the GTX version is available at a lower price, I'd go that route and buy aftermarket decals. Scott
  2. Neither is your '70 Impala. That kit has around a lot long than Revell's '60. Scott
  3. Wow! I really like 3269GT. I've never seen that one before. Scott
  4. Thanks for the offer. But I'm going to hold off on that idea for now. Especially after seeing the Keith Marks decal sheet you show without the '73 Mach 1 stripes. As soon as I saw this, I knew for sure that was the set I bought for my '71. Scott
  5. Ah, stealing my favorite joke. I love it! Scott
  6. I'm guessing Frank that he was asking about the last reissue of Revell's '60 Impala. As the original issue of that kit came with decals simulating the factory upholstery. I do not know if the reissues includes this or not. Scott
  7. It's been about two or three years since I built my '71 Bond Mach 1. I didnt remember that the Keith Marks decal set came with the '73 Mach 1 decals. Now I just need to find a decent '73 grille insert and another kit, and I could built a nice '73. Scott
  8. '60, '61, and '62 Chrysler gum ball machine dashboard is still by far the best instrument cluster ever put into a car. Scott
  9. Very cool! Though I admit, I wouldn't have the guts to drive that thing under those conditions. It obviously works just fine. But, I'd be to paranoid to enjoy myself. Scott
  10. I've alway like the looks of that generation Consul. Especially the Capri version. Scott
  11. Just went to Missing Link's website to look at their parts to convert the MPC '73/AMT '71 Boss 351 to a more correct '71 front end. Clicked on the parts button, and all it would show me was information about international shipping. And the front end did not come up in the kit section. But again, the front bumper is the only real problem. Paint the grille surround and the headlamp bezels black. And with the grille insert included in the kit it look pretty darn close. In fact, it would be nice if Round 2 included a decent 1973 grille insert with tthis kit. So one could build it as a correct looking '73 Mach 1. The "73" grille insert that is include in the kit is way too small. Does anybody know if anybody makes a correct '73 grille and/or '73 Mach 1 decals for this kit? It would be fun to build a '73 Mach 1 to go with my James Bond '71. Scott
  12. Now that would cool. Plus we can use a few more '59 Fords out there. Revell's Retractable is only a fair kit. I'd love to see a Fairlane 500 (not Galaxie) Club Victoria coupe, Sunliner convertible, and a Country Squire or Country Sedan wagons. Basically the Fords AMT offered back in 1959. Scott
  13. The above is the old MPC kit I was refering to. Note the front bumper and the headlamp bezels. Both are incorrect for 1971. The bezels can be fixed just by painting them black. Like I said, mine ended looking okay. Scott
  14. Yes in their early years the J10s were called Gladiators. Scott
  15. Ah, the least loved of the original Mustangs, 1971 - 1973. So of course I love them. Snake is right, the only option for a somewhat stock/street version of that generation Mustang is the old MPC kit. Released several times under both the MPC and AMT banner. The last release I purchased and built was the one reissued as a '71 Boss 351. Ertl took the '73 MPC Mach 1 and with a grille insert tried to pass it off as a '71 Boss. It didn't work. The '71 Boss 351 came with a chrome bumper. This kit still had the slightly larger non-chrome '73 bumper. And from what I remember, the engines are kind of mess in this kit. Neither fish nor fowl? None of the variations are quite right? I may be wrong on this. My solution in building this kit, was to try and build it somewhat close a '71 Mach 1. I got Mach 1 decals from Keith Marks and built mine to look like the car Sean Connery drove in Diamonds are Forever. Over all, other than the bumper being slightly larger than it was on the real '71s, it looks pretty good. Scott
  16. Got a complete, unmolested, in a good box, 1967 AMT Falcon at our local model club swap meet two nights ago. The body is down in the basement with a coat or two of Testor's One Coat Icy Blue lacquer on it. And it's looking pretty good! I'll be building this kit box stock, with nothing added but paint. I love cars from the year 1967. And I love the AMT kits from this era. And I got it at a pretty good price. A win-win-win all the way around. I'm happy. Scott
  17. With a minimum amount of sanding on the underside of hood where it sits on the cowl, the fit is perfect. With the fit of the stock hood, and my memory of it in the past, I'm guessing Round 2 modified and fixed it. It did not fit this well on my cabriolet. Okay, but as good as on the new coupe reissue. Scott
  18. The decal sheet in this kit is fun. It's large, with lots of great choices for names and car sponsorship. I like it. Hopefully someone who can post pictures of it here will do so. Scott
  19. I'm not sure on this one. Sitting here looking at mine, it looks okay. But not perfect. The left side seems to lineup better than the right. And that's with the two halves glued together. Scott
  20. Got mine last night. I'm very happy with what I found when I opened the box. Everthing looks good. Mine has no flash. The dies are apparently in good shape or have been repaired. Love the tires. Nice set of 4 pad printed whitewalls and 2 white lettered slicks. Another great Round 2 re-release. Scott
  21. Our local model car club had its annual swap meet tonight. Picked up AMT's recent reissue of the '37 Chevy coupe, plus their new red-line tire set. But, the big score for me tonight was a complete unbuilt AMT 1967 Ford Falcon Sport Coupe. Both the kit and the box are in very good shape. This was one of those "holy grail" kits for me. Got it at a price that was pretty good too. Scott
  22. There is some irony in the above. Showing a vehicle they don't make? Scott
