  1. Toothpaste. I've had great luck since read about that way back in the early 70's Car Model magazine. Be careful. Some toothpaste can be too abrasive. Back in the early 70's they claimed Colgate worked best. And it still does. Scott
  2. Just built one of these within the last year. I love the 914s. But, I wasn't overly impressed with this kit. Scott
  3. Nice job! Scott
  4. I don't know why, but I've always hate the toilet paper and bears commercial. It's that for Northern tissue? I've always found those commercials in bad taste. The old what "a bear does in the woods" thing? Not funny! Scott
  5. It looks great, but..... Between the cold and having to remove, or move the stuff..... It's not great at all. Plus it sticks around way too long. I hate the stuff. Thankfully Minnesota is beautiful in the summer. It almost makes it worth putting up with. Note, I said almost. Scott
  6. Now I can't find the joke here that someone posted here about crows getting hit by trucks only and not cars. I had more fun telling that joke to the kids at the high school I was working at today. And they all thought it was a great joke. Who ever posted that joke, I think it got lost like a lot of stuff here recently, so can you please post it again? You told it better than I did. Scott
  7. Today I got the Glencoe (Disney) Nuclear Powered Space Station. I love these old 1950's speculative space and sci-fi stuff. Scott
  8. The trouble is, I'm both! Oh,no! KHAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Scott
  9. What? That's ridiculous! Other than the incorrect style roof rack, it's a nice model. But, at that price? That's just plain nuts. Scott
  10. Great pictures of the car. An Automobile Quarterly book from the 1980's is where I saw this car for the the first time. And, I've seen it in other publications since. But, never with so many pictures showing all the little details of the car. Note the crack in the front of the hood. Other than that and a little yellowing, I'd say the car has held up pretty good over the years. Scott
  11. I always knew Santa was kool! Scott
  12. Nice looking Chevy. Scott
  13. Neat! Scott
  14. What is the color? Scott
  15. Good looking Merc. Scott
  16. Very cool. You guys doing just the helmet, or whole costume? Either way, it would be fun to see this modeled on someone after your done. I hope you guys are going for the full costume. As good looking as your helmet is, I'd love to see your wings! Scott
  17. Looks good, from what I can see. I'd like to see more. Scott
  18. Notice, the tailgate cuts into the bumper. Indicating maybe a lower cargo floor than your normal wagon? Scott
  19. I too think it's sad that places like Walmart will be open on Thanksgiving. The greedy s.o.b.s and materialistic shoppers just can't give it a rest for 24 hours. My extended family several years ago decided we had enough of exchanging Christmas gifts among the adults. We have or will get whatever we need on our own. Now we get together and enjoy each other's company instead. And it's been great. A few gifts get passed around, mainly to the kids. So we're not total Scrooges. Scott
  20. I'm not a football fan, but I've heard this joke as, Why do all Minnesota trees point east. Because Packer's fans suck. I'm sure these same jokes are used in other parts of the country in simular situations. It's like in the 1970's when Polish jokes were popular. I'd go up to northern Minnesota and hear the exact same jokes, but told as Finnish jokes. Since there are a lot of Finns up there. With that in mind. Why are there no ice cubes in North or South Dakota? - Because they lost the recipe. What's the best thing to come out of Iowa? - Interstate highway I35. There are many more. Some about our neighbors to the north. But, I've done enough damage, and I do not want to start an international incident. At least for Now. Scott
  21. Welcome to the group Brad, but.... I unclear what this is all about. Like why a link to some else's build. Why are we here? Because we like cars and trucks, and building models of them. It's that simple. Scott
  22. Tell us more. The front wheels hint Toronado. Scott
  23. Cool model. And a cool story. Wow! Scott
  24. Interesting to note. The other car in the same driveway with the Toronado wagon, looks to be another Oldsmobile. '64 or '65 F-85/Cutlass? Scott
