ESCI 20ft Container trailer
kilrathy10 replied to Rockford's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Man, that looks so good... Excellent work, my friend... This is a very nice piece, for sure... -
I just got the police Mustang from Sam's, and the other one I've had in my stash for a while... I swapped the tires from the police version with the orange one, and added a fat spoiler to both of them... Painted the rims on the police car, too...

That is a great looking model...

I'm going to have to get CBS All Access... I'm missing out, Man... I'm thinking, "pretty good job"... Now, I'm intrigued... I may have to catch up to all the Trekkers out there...

AMT Kenworth T600A

Looks great, Man... Good job... I don't know what Revell was thinking with their versions... They are just not as good as the AMT, which has it's own problems, but still better than the Revell... Awesome work, Man... -

Man, you got some skills, Bro... This thing is awesome... I'm loving this one... I'll be watching... So funny how the compartments you added, in the raw, resemble a couple of dog houses... ? Very cool looking model... I like the new rubber, too... -
Ford f150 box truck
kilrathy10 replied to Aerodyne03's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I have seen some paper models, and they are fantastic, no matter what the subject... I'd love to try something like that, myself... That's a good idea, too... -
Ford f150 box truck

Looking forward to this build...I love the idea...I have a die cast model similar to this, but a bit more of an aerodynamic shape... You may find the Ford Louisville box truck of some use to build this thing... If for nothing else, the rear door and floor could work well... I believe they are being issued in the Coca Cola guise, these days... Or even the C-600 kit's box... Just sand down the ribs, cut out the wheel wells, and you're set... -

Yes Sir... It appears you're very much on your way... Looks quite remarkable with all the little bits and details included in this kit... Very nice work, Man... And I like those tires way better than the kit ones... The lower profile is much better... -

Yes, Sir... That looks really good... I'm definitely liking what I'm seeing... This is already a quality build... Awesome... And I'm an eyeball engineer, myself... 90% of all my fabs are done that way... -
Serious Race Rig
kilrathy10 replied to kilrathy10's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Trust me... I've been exploring options for a donor cab for the front end of this thing... I was eyeballing that very cab... I think that it will be out of that one and a MB Actros front end.. With some modifications to the bumper, I think I could do well with it...Or even a Scania... -
ALF Aero Chief Finished

Thanks, Guys... I appreciate all the comments and input... This was a bit of a departure from the norm, for me... Yeah... I kind of forgot about the rear arrow tail lights... I have to add them along with painting the fronts... And, I really like the clear tubing idea... I will definitely give that one a shot... Thanks... I'll post pics after I do.... Thanks for the tip on the chocks... I was wondering about weather or not the outriggers would do that... I have taken note... Glad to have some guys that know something about fire apparatus.... Beyond what I see around town, I know nothing about these things... ? -
This is an excellent piece of work... I'd love to build something like this... Too cool, Man... The tile floor looks great... Electrical tape, huh? Whoda thunk it? Great idea...

Thanks, Bud... I've been running through my mind all the ways to attack this one, as well... I don't think the A&N Argosy will help much, anyway, as the only thing that I think they have in common are the mirrors, steps and windshield, LOL... Even the front end looks different... I'm going to have to figure a way to scratch up the cab... My main concern is the curved windshield and the curvature of the roof down the sides... I've got enough plastic... Just need to think outside the box a little bit... -
I've finally finished this thing... This was a pretty fun build, as I was able to add a few things that I always felt needed to be... I extended the frame to add a tag axle, Moebius wheels and tires, homemade light bars, and of course, painted it orange.... ? There a few more mods, but those are the main ones.... I plan on building all three of the AMT released versions of this truck... Here's the first...
