1970 Ford F250 4x4
bogger44 replied to bogger44's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Thanks for the wonderful comments everyone! This is only the second kit I've done some weathering to, and am enjoying this new to me added detail and learning the process. Been using the Tamiya weathering kits. Thanks Bill, that was bugging me and had to correct it! -
Love it! Excellent stance, color, and wheel choice. She's looking tough as nails!

Moebius F100 kit bashed with Fireball Modelworks excellent F250 conversion kit. Been a few months in the making but finally finished it up yesterday. My kit was no exception to the warped hood, but got it straightened out the best I could. Same goes with getting the cab and bed lined up properly (not spot on but close). Overall a good kit to put together. Fireballs's parts and instructions were easy to work with/follow. Those Western mirrors are beautifully done, but pretty fragile and needed great care not to break them. Tamiya Maroon and Racing White are close stand-ins for Royal Maroon and Wimbledon White. The chassis was treated to some dirt and grime, as was under the hood, and a little in the interior and bed. I spruced up the engine with some go fast(er) goodies from my parts box. The dual exhaust was cobbled together from various pieces, and finished with aluminum tubing tips. Really like how she turned out. That's enough rambling for now, thanks fer lookin' and any questions and comments.

1950 Ford Pikes Peak Truck
bogger44 replied to Zippi's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Oh yeah that's killer! Very cleanly built. Usually I'm not big on grays, but this one is an exception as it suits it well. Congrats and thanks for sharing, I've been thinking of picking up this body kit as well. Iceman and Texas 3D sure make some great stuff. -
That is a great looking build! Lovely paint and very clean detailing throughout, and nice to see one in white.
-
Excellent build and photography! That's a great, and unique, color you chose.

A few of mine...

Sharp build for sure! Love that you added the shaker scoop. Underhood detail is excellent, as is the chassis.

Post your truck mockups.

First mockup with the tires pinned on. Moebius 70 F100 converting to an F250 using Fireball Modelworks excellent conversion kit. -
I really like this one, Mike! Red on red with those Cragars looks so good. Whenever I get around to building mine, I may just have to go with this very combo, very inspiring!

Heck yeah, nice to see another one of these built as a drag car! Looks great! Thanks for the heads up on the decals, I've got at least one set I've had for a long time, too.

You overcame the obstacles these kits have really well. They do look great when completed, yours is no exception. I wrestled this kit to completion several years back and have a number of others to build, but have yet to get the ambition to start another one lol.

Many thanks again guys! I had those same intentions with mine, Terry. But, when I looked at that cool custom hood, and the other optional goodies in the kit, I changed my mind.

'97 F-150 "Quick Build"
bogger44 replied to ReduitRetro's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Fantastic build, James! I don't know if I've ever seen one of these snappers posted before. Nice job on the lift and wheel/tire swap, it looks so much better than the low ride height this kit has otherwise. Thanks for sharing this, as it gives me some inspiration to dig mine out from deep within the stash and take a crack at it. -
Wow Niko, you really knocked this one outta the park! The subtle blackwash on the engine is very effective. Beautiful attention to the details all-around.

Thanks guys!

F-14 Tomcat

Holy smokes that is a terrific build! It could easily pass for the real thing, simply amazing! -
Count me in as a fan of those wheels as well. I don't always like big wheels on vintage cars but this looks great. Another great build for your collection.

This was my first time trying that method, and agree it is a bit tricky. I did have better luck than I thought I would. Hardest part was trying to keep it from twisting around while applying.

That is a beautifully clean and detailed build. Stellar paint too. I love those longnose Mustangs, thanks for sharing!

Many thanks again guys! I was really fretting doing that side trim. I cut those strips, with a straightedge, right from the sheet then applied them to the body. No way was I going to try free-handing it all the way down the body with a knife. I did unintentionally cut them slightly wider than the molded in trim but I'm good with it. The vertical part up front is a separate piece which I applied like normal.

Thanks a bunch guys, glad you all like my take on this kit. I was really trying to give it a period correct vibe and think I pulled it off respectably.

1974 Ford F250 Supercab

Awesome Super Cab, Chuck! I have fond memories of riding around in the back seat of one of these when I was a kid. (Think ours was a 75)
