  1. Very sharp build, Dan. Nice and clean. I have this one on my ever growing mountain of a to do list as well.
  2. That is absolutely amazing, many congrats!
  3. I finally have another small update on the Torino. I haven't spent a whole lot of time at the bench lately, but did manage to install the glass, interior, and chassis to the body. Next up was starting to button up the engine bay. Routed the heater hoses and hooked up the cable that runs from the solenoid. I still need to add the cable from the battery to the solenoid, as well as the ground wire. I'm starting to see the finish line in sight, for the most part just small stuff left. Most pieces are painted and ready to go...... Radiator and core ready to be assembled/installed Grille/front fascia Tailight assembly Laser stripes Side mirrors/door handles Photo etched emblems and rocker panel trim Install rear suspension Make some aluminum tubing exhaust tips I guess that's a bigger list than I thought it was lol. More to come......
  4. I was thinking the same thing. Brings a tear to my eyes seeing those.....well, except the S10, I kinda lol'd at that one.
  5. Very nice! I could have used this rig in my driveway today.

Awesome work Jeff. That interior is gorgeous.
  7. Thanks Donald and Curt. No real update tonight, just added some dullcote to the headliner.
  8. Real nice start Fred, looking forward to this. I've toyed with the idea of doing a Twister as well, someday. Where are you sourcing the 428 from?
  9. Yet another super sharp build from you, Tulio. Congrats.
  10. Nice!
  11. This should be fun to watch. Looks like a pretty good little kit. I've never seen one before.
  12. Agreed, the wiring looks great, Mike. And you can never go wrong with a green Mopar! Looking forward to more!
  13. Thanks for the compliments guys. Yes, I haven't been around much Mike. I got pretty burnt out with the hobby for awhile, and while I did continue to check out all the builds going on, I was more of a lurker than anything and didn't post much. I really liked your 5.0 notchback, and I'll have to go catch up on your progress on the 'Cuda. I had a pretty quiet weekend, so I actually managed to accomplish quite a bit on the Torino the last couple days. First up was knocking out the BMF, never one of my favorite things to do. Luckily there isn't a whole lot on these cars. Those hashes were fun! Started work on making some shackles out of Evergreen to pick up the rear. I will sand and clean them up before paint. Up front, the kit wheelbacks wouldn't work, as the Cragars are too deep to allow them to seat properly. So I just added some Evergreen to the retainers and mounted them directly to the wheels. I also turned my attention to the exhaust. Surprisingly, I only had to trim the front pipes a little, and do some slight bending, to line 'em up with the headers. I'll be adding aluminum tubing for the exhaust tips later on. Lastly, I did a mock up to check ride height, and took a couple pics for a little teaser. I'm liking it!
  14. Wow, that's extremely nice! Not to beat a dead horse, but that paint is really sharp. I built one a number of years ago that turned out ho-hum, and have another in the stash to tackle someday that I can only hope will turn out as good as yours.
  15. You took an already great looking build and made it truly stand out and pop. Real nice work, Randy. I've been enjoying your restorations.
  16. Slow but steady progress is the name of the game here, a common theme with most of my builds. Lol. Finally got the body into paint and polished out. In the process of polishing I proceeded to burn through a couple spots on the drivers side fender top. So a little careful sanding brought the fender top down to the primer level again, masked the rest of the car off, and shot another coat of primer followed by paint. Once gassed out, I attempted polishing and low and behold it came out good this time around. I also turned my attention to installing the 429 and front suspension. Nearly everything was straight forward as far as assembly. The only issues were the headers were a little fussy to install, and I had to delete the oil filter as it was in the way of the headers. Don't know if this is a common issue with this kit or just my usual dumb luck. Thanks to Mike's advice earlier, I did paint the vac advance silver, and re-routed the line to the carb.
  17. Nice save. I usually am not a fan of huge wheels on musclecars, but it works on this one.
  18. Thanks guys. Jesse, that's too bad about loosing some parts, hope you get to finish it someday and post it here. Mike, call it a brain fart on painting the vacuum advance black. I'll get it painted silver, and re-route the line to the proper location on the carb. Thanks for the heads-up!
  19. Beautiful build Felix!
  20. What a beauty. That paint is simply amazing!
  21. Thanks everyone. I finished up the interior a few days ago and just now got the chance to snap a few pics. These Torinos had a goofy horizontal tach on the bottom left of the dash.....what serious gear-jammer would use that? So I took the tach from the Revell '68 Charger and mounted it on the steering column. BMF for the chrome trim and door handles/window cranks. All paint detail on the dash. I didn't use the speedo and gauge decals after the experience with the woodgrain decals on the door panels. While applying those, even with liberal amounts of micro set used, they kept curling up along the edges in various spots. The only way I was able to get them to lay down properly was after they dried awhile, I applied a tiny amount of Testors glue from the tube underneath and pressed them down. Kinda has me worried about the laser stripes for the body........ Last night I laid down the black in the engine bay. Testors flat black with semi-gloss clear. Making a little progress on the chassis, too. I used Krylon Ruddy Brown primer to simulate Red Oxide, works pretty convincingly IMO.
  22. Oh yeah that is nice! Beautiful build and sharp photos as well.
  23. Beautiful paint. That is one real sharp Boss '9.
  24. Randy, as much as I love your Lime Light 'Cuda, I believe I like this one even better! It's such a great color combo. Congrats on another stellar build! I, too, have ordered some tire decals from Fireball Modelworks and looking forward to their arrival in my mailbox.
  25. Great build Fred, looks spot on to me. Congrats.
