  1. I'm looking for the front glass for the Johan 68 Fury convertible. I've read online in a 1:1 Fury forum that only convertible or hardtop glass will work as a replacement. It said sedans wouldn't. I was wondering if Johan followed this when making their 68 4 door sedan police car and the 68 Fury HT and CV. I'm going to guess they're different but maybe someone here knows for sure. Thanks!
  2. Welcome Dan! Love your armor work.
  3. Beautiful build Racine! Congratulations. I too, have bought from Oleks and he's great to work with. The kits I've gotten from him have been very nice.
  4. Is it that obvious?? 😉
  5. Actually Carl it's a 68 in Madiera Plum
  6. I was really surprised I was this productive this year. Some of these are rebuilder promos that I saved, repainted and detailed. Others are rebuilders from kit builds. None were straight builds from unbuilt kits. Thanks for looking and have a great holiday season to all! In no particular order...
  7. Great group of builds Justin!
  8. Great builds and really like the photography. Congrats!
  9. Great group of builds... congrats!
  10. Great group of builds!
  11. Great job on these builds. Colors are especially nice.
  12. Nice builds Les!
  13. Great builds as usual Steve!
  14. Good group of builds Nathan... congrats!
  15. Since retiring 8 years ago my building has changed from only one on the bench to generally 3-4 now. Mostly because I have all the time in the world to work on stuff and there's always glue or paint drying on one or two, so I can just switch to another. This also keeps me from burning out on only one at a time.
  16. Very nice! And thanks for the tip on Too Many Projects.
  17. Got this 3D printed 68 Caprice 2 door from Diolex (Ukraine) on Ebay and I have to give him a shout out about the quality of this one. This is the second kit I've gotten from him, the first was the 77 Caprice 4 door I finished a while back. That one needed quite a bit of sanding to rid it of the printer lines, but this 68 has very little needed. Not that it's ready to go without sanding but it's way less. I've used Mr Surfacer 500 gray primer on 3d builds and it really works good to reduce a lot of the sanding needed too. This 68 has so much more included (even the hidden headlight grille option and the stock headlight version) than the 77 kit. He's great to work with and I also got his 68 Grand Prix with this 68 Caprice. Same quality.
  18. I use Tamiya's TS-13 for most all my builds including the many I've done with Scalefinishes colors. Zero problems.
  19. Beautiful! Great build!
  20. I've never considered that explanation. I don't really always follow the same pattern each time when spraying but I'd say I usually do one side, the top surfaces, then the remaining side. This is something else I can try I guess.
  21. That's a good point and I do actually use a good paint stand and try and spray only perpendicular to any surface. Thanks Bill
  22. I use their paints a lot and will try both putting a bit heavier on the horizontal next time. Seems I spray equally everywhere but I wouldn't be surprised if I don't. I do spray with all the surfaces held vertically (about a 90 degree angle?) Not sure if it matters but I usually spray lengthwise on the top surfaces and then if I have some striping I'll go across widthwise on the next pass. The sides seem easy that way, always just lengthwise. Thanks Pete
  23. Generally speaking I can never get the glossy finish on the hood, roof and trunk as I do on the sides. I airbrush the same way with the same paint under the same conditions but the upper surfaces usually have some grain showing where the sides dry very glossy. I lightly sand all surfaces the same after the color coat and then again after the clears but the difference is always there when finished. I use Tamiya polishes when all is finished and I can sometimes get the grain to fade a bit but I was just wondering if there is something I'm doing wrong. Edit.. I usually see this when using Scalefinishes base coats at 20psi w/Tamiya clear after.
  24. Welcome!
