  1. Its been a while since I did any work on the Merc but over the last few days the interior has been painted and assembled. I've also had a chance to get the body painted now that the weather has improved. So far I've been impressed by how well this kit has gone together. I can see myself getting another one.
  2. Looks interesting, I'll be watching this one.
  3. I've made some more progress over the weekend. The underside and engine bay have been painted Ford Roman Bronze from a spray can. I've also used some 040'' evergreen strip to add some trim to the body. The plan is to paint the area below the trim gold and the rest bronze.

    Excellent paintwork.
  5. Mine arrived today, thanks Tom. PM sent.
  6. Nice looking Ford Rob. I'll be joining in with this once I decide what to build.
  7. I haven't built one of these before but I've heard good things about it so I made a start on mine yesterday. So far progress has been rapid, the engine is finished and ready to be fitted once the chassis is painted. The body has had a coat of primer and a mock up shows it sitting nice and low, as it should be. I need to decide on a color next.
  8. It's been a while since the last update but I have made some more progress. The interior is finished, side trim fitted and the BMF is under way. As there isn't much left to do now I should have it finished before the end of the year.
  9. Excellent work. Great paint and detailing.
  10. Off to a good start.
  11. Fantastic work so far. The art deco dash looks great!
  12. Great work so far.
  13. This is the coolest looking Willys I can remember seeing. Great work!
  14. Thanks for the comments, much appreciated. I've made some more progress. The body has been painted (not very shiny though). I've started on the interior too. It will need some touching up but it should look OK when it's finished.
  15. After being away over the weekend I've put a few hours in today. The underside is finished except for the rear shock absorbers. The interior parts have been painted and just need some detailing to finish them off. The body is painted and decals have been applied. There was still some evidence of where the edge of the rear side windows were so I decided to use the body stripes but move them further up. The chrome parts should stand out well against the dark blue paint. I don't know if it will be finished by tomorrow night but it shouldn't be too far off.
  16. I've got a couple of cans of pink paint so I'll join in too.
  17. I've started work on the interior by making a forward extension to the load bay using the rear seat backrest and front spoiler. After some trimming it was fitted to the interior tub. The headers have been fitted to the engine which has been test fitted to the chassis.
  18. I've glossed it up Rob. A few coats of Tamiya Pearl clear gave it a nice shine. I dry fitted the side trim to see what it looked like. Looking forward to applying the foil.
  19. Thanks Kevin. It might still be in primer at the end of the month at this rate.
  20. Thanks for the comments guys. Over the past couple of days I've got the body and underside painted. Paint is Tamiya Metallic Green and Humbrol Gun Metal. Ive also added redlines to the tires for a bit of extra color.
  21. I'm still trying to blend in the rear side window openings, it's slow progress but I'm getting there. It looks like the axles will need shortening too.
  22. Great pictures, thanks for sharing.
  23. Joining my '57 Nomad on the bench is a '55 Bel Air hardtop that I'm building as part of a CBP on one of the Facebook groups that I'm a member of. So far the body has been nosed and decked followed by a couple of coats of primer.
  24. Great work so far. Looking forward to the next update.
