  1. Absolutely beautiful 😍. Great job!
  2. I actually have more than I thought I did. The black 49 Ford and Mercury were from about 1980, the rest are early to late '80's. I have an amt 69 Chevelle that I restored, and an amt 57 Ford that I recently pulled apart for restoration. The Jeep and the 56 Ford are two of my favorites. I also have a number of Hubley Model A Fords, 32 Chevrolet, and a Packard that I built with my dad from about 1975 through 1980. All brush painted with Testors bottle paint. They are all boxed up at the bottom of a closet, so no way am I pulling those out for a quick pic. 😁

That is beautiful. I have built the other two amt offerings, but not the sedan.
  4. Absolutely stunning. My sister has one, her first car when she turned 16. It needs total restoration now, but I am planning on building one like she wants hers to look. It isn't an XL, so I will need to change a few things.
  5. Thanks, I was looking for something a little more classic in the wheel department and found these leftover from the Revell 1969 Nova.
  6. Thanks everyone. Even though it took as long as it did, and isn't perfect, I am happy that I finally built my grail car.
  7. When I started finishing my 60 sedan delivery, I found that the chrome tree also included the bits for the 59. I wish I had noticed this earlier, I might have used some of them because of better detail.
  8. Beautiful job! I grew up with Model T Fords and a number of years ago, on another forum, I mentioned that I wanted to build one of these. A few days later this showed up in the mail. He had built one a few years before that, and sent it to me as a gift.
  9. Thanks, and yes, it was a bear to do the foil work. I love cars from the age of excess....until it's time for the foil work.
  10. Thanks again everyone.
  11. Thanks everyone! Yes, it's the Flintstone body. All I can say is you need to do a lot of trimming to different parts of the chassis to get it to fit right.
  12. Thanks everyone. I found a car online that was the inspiration. The wheels, engine, and the steering wheel all came from the Monogram '59 Caddy. I also incorporated a 1961 Impala hood into it.
  13. 2025 is off to a better start. This resin body was a pain to get everything to fit. But, it only took two years off and on to finish.
  14. Here is my one and only build from 2024, and it only took me four years off and on to finish.
  15. I finally have some progress. The chassis is coming along, and of course the basic mock up. Spoiler, it won't be a go fast color, 'cause you can't fly under the radar with any of those. πŸ˜‰ I won't be able to finish the drive train due to missing engine parts. I boxed this kit up from various new sprues and did not notice that the top end of the engine was missing. I had another glue bomb engine but I can't get the heads, valve covers, and intake off. So I will put a request in the wanted section.
  16. Lots of work going on Tom. The Plymouth is my favorite one of the three.
  17. I love these kits I have built 2 coupes and a sedan delivery. I also have a big box of parts and rebuilders to eventually build....unless I send them to you. πŸ˜ƒ Keep up the good work !
  18. I have mine sorted out. I have the chassis cleaned up and ready for primer.
  19. More research. By the looks of it, the spare was on the right side. You can see the holes where the panel clipped in place as well as the reinforcement that the hardware would fasten to. If you look really close on the left side, you can the canister for venting the fuel tank. So was Monogram going to add a station wagon to the lineup and never went through with it? Yet the fuel tank on the chassis plate would be wrong for any wagon. All I know is that I won't lose any sleep over it. πŸ˜ƒ
  20. Thank you so much. I should have done another hour of searching before opening my mouth. Now I just need to know which side the spare tire was mounted, and why Monogram put that in their chassis plate. πŸ˜ƒ
  21. I would love to see a picture or article stating that. All the articles said it was never an option. Maybe GM shopped that out to another company for the conversion. It wouldn't be the first time that was done.
  22. I'm working on their 1960 Impala kit and noticed something. After research, I think they did this on purpose just to mess with us. On the bottom of the chassis it has a vertical mounted spare tire well on the right side of the car, with typical fuel tank location, yet all Chevrolet passenger cars had their spare tire in the trunk, mounted on top of the floor, as per the kit. Elcamino had their spare mounted behind the seat. All station wagons spare were carried under a trap door at the rear of the car, with a different shaped fuel tank. No third seat was offered in a Chevrolet wagon until 1961, with a vertical mounted spare on the right side of the car, and different fuel tank location. I could not find any model offered by Monogram of a 1961 Chevrolet wagon. BUT !!! You can buy, brand new, a 1959-60 replacement sheet metal spare tire well...except it is for the LEFT side of the car. After looking at lots of pictures of Impala, Bel Air, and Biscayne trunks, none of them have a vertical mounted spare tire...on either side. Like I said, I think someone did this to mess with our heads. 😁
