Movin’ On Kenworth Restoration
Sam I Am replied to Plashdaddy's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Glad you tackled it. I will be following! -
I met a model building friend at a show today. We both live about a two and a half hour drive from it...in opposite directions. He called me yesterday and asked if I had a certain kit he was looking for, which I did. He then said that another friend told him I was building trucks and wanted to know if he could trade me this one he had. All he said was that it was real big, and a Volvo. It ended up being a 1/8 Pocher Volvo F12. I never knew they made such a thing. Here it is next to my Titan....I have no idea what I am going to do with it, but isn't it cool!

Torsion bar rear suspension questions
Sam I Am replied to Sam I Am's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks Håkan, that tells me not to install it on anything but an old Kenworth. -
Yea, a month or so ago a log truck driving friend showed me a picture he took while stuck in traffic. A Swift driver decided to do a u-turn in the middle of a five lane highway and proceeded to sink his drive axles into the soft shoulder just as his 50ft trailer was at a 90 degrees to the road, blocking all five lanes...

Are these both AMT Rigs? Help!
Sam I Am replied to Plashdaddy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Looking forward to following the restorations. -
I have been searching the archives for any discussions on this suspension and have found lots of info on the plastic version but nothing really touched what I was wondering about. My questions are, what years was this available on the 1:1s, and was it a Kenworth only suspension or was it industry wide? With all the different early trucks available now in resin I was wondering if that suspension would be period correct on other trucks than a Kenworth. Thanks!

Soak them in the purple pond for awhile and then see what you have. -
My pleasure Jeff. Really happy with the cracker box and a HUGE thanks for the 4300 parts ! Also had a great experience with Casey. He provided the Watkins decals I needed.

Nice work on this! -
So while waiting for the 4300 parts I went through the old built ups once again and picked this one out. Super clean and next to no glue or paint used. In fact, after a few hrs at the bench it was almost completely blown apart. So while I start the prep and primer stage I will be thinking of what color I want it. Hmmmm.....
