While waiting on a couple parts for the International, and a trip to the hobby shop for paint, I dug out the other restoration project. This one I do remember the history of. I don't know how many of you remember an online store that closed a number of years ago called Model Express, just across the border to the north in Canada and owned by a super nice guy named Dennis. Well, this truck was built by him. I have a couple cars on display he built as well. So here is what I am starting with. Looks pretty straight forward. Cleaning, light polishing, and reassemble. I even found a set of instructions to help me along. If you haven't noticed, I am having a blast digging through my big rig stuff for the first time in five years.

Thanks everyone! This is fun to put back together. Cleaning up well with only small challenges. I have the chassis all repaired and sitting level, and most of the cab reassembled along with all the interior pieces cleaned. The sleeper has some paint damage to one compartment door, that will be the hardest thing to fix.

Looks awesome Brian! What green did you use on the engine? -
I like this a lot. Where did you cut the frame down for the single axle?

Great work Jim! -
I just downloaded the instructions and WoW has this thing been modified, unless there was more than one version released. The engine is different, the frame is longer, front springs and perches look scratch built, the sleeper is off something else, and I am sure I am missing things... The instruction sheet showed me what the steering wheel and column look like, now to start going through all those parts boxes...

Love it Pat, just love it !! -
I have been collecting big rig parts/kits/buildups for many years and have not gone through my stash for over five years. I cannot remember where/how I came about this one, but whoever built this one did an outstanding job and I hope I can put it back together with due justice. If anyone recognizes it please speak up. It has fully articulating rear suspension, steerable front wheels, and LOTS of nice detail which includes hand painted pin striping. I will try and polish things up as I reassemble the truck. The only thing that appears to be missing is the steering wheel/column. I also found a broken air horn that needs to be replaced. I will need to find an instruction sheet so I can put it back together correctly. Here is what I am starting with...

I have the Italeri conversion kit with the crane. After seeing yours I am thinking of adding it to my Bison. I I know it is not the same quality but it will help fill the void between the cab and trailer. Thanks for the idea. -

I have been sorting through my big rig stash for the first time since the move....about four years ago. I had forgotten this cab. I usually keep all pertinent info together but not this time. Other than being a Kenworth, I have no memory of what it is, but it has a really short hood. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Bill Elliott transporter questions
Sam I Am replied to Sam I Am's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I think this is what I will shoot for since I have an Aeromax kit and the trailer and car. All I know is I must not have been entering the correct info when I searched years ago, all I found were pics of the trailer. Kerry, this is one in a long list of projects. Dave, heck of a neighborhood to grow up in, for sure! Force, thanks for all those great pics and info. -

Auto fill and in a hurry are not a good combination. Thanks for catching that. Kerry, I am glad to see the Aeromax since I have one in the stash. Even with the discrepancies in design with the AMT trailer, I am sure I will be pleased with the overall effect. Thanks everyone!
