  1. So small, yet such clean work. Between you and Vince, I cannot believe the amount of aftermarket available in this scale.
  2. Great attention to detail. I love the running boards. I have installed hundreds of them and they are spot on.
  3. I did some research and found videos where people did r/c conversions. My father-in-law said I should build a car transporter trailer and fill it with cars. That might be an 8ft model all said and done...
  4. Vince, I thought of you yesterday at the model show I went to when I saw this.
  5. Super clean work and attention to detail.
  6. Glad you tackled it. I will be following!
  7. I met a model building friend at a show today. We both live about a two and a half hour drive from it...in opposite directions. He called me yesterday and asked if I had a certain kit he was looking for, which I did. He then said that another friend told him I was building trucks and wanted to know if he could trade me this one he had. All he said was that it was real big, and a Volvo. It ended up being a 1/8 Pocher Volvo F12. I never knew they made such a thing. Here it is next to my Titan....I have no idea what I am going to do with it, but isn't it cool!
  8. I bet they really light up in the sun!
  9. Funny you should ask...I happen to have this in a box of trailer parts, and since it's yellow, and I have never done a real wood deck....
  10. Beautiful! Stunning! Superb!
  11. Can they examine your head while your there? That is some insane work.
  12. Thanks Håkan, that tells me not to install it on anything but an old Kenworth.
  13. So I think I figured out what direction I am going with this finally. The dump box really wasn't working for me, so I am putting a fifth wheel on it, changing out the wheels and tires, maybe modifying the front bumper, and oh yea, it's going to be yellow.
  14. Yea, a month or so ago a log truck driving friend showed me a picture he took while stuck in traffic. A Swift driver decided to do a u-turn in the middle of a five lane highway and proceeded to sink his drive axles into the soft shoulder just as his 50ft trailer was at a 90 degrees to the road, blocking all five lanes...
  15. Looking forward to following the restorations.
  16. Thanks Vince! Now for the fun part, matching all that paint.... I wont be able to get to a hobby shop for a week or two so this one will sit quiet for awhile. Sure Wish I Finished Training!!!
  17. I have been searching the archives for any discussions on this suspension and have found lots of info on the plastic version but nothing really touched what I was wondering about. My questions are, what years was this available on the 1:1s, and was it a Kenworth only suspension or was it industry wide? With all the different early trucks available now in resin I was wondering if that suspension would be period correct on other trucks than a Kenworth. Thanks!
  18. So moving forward. The new hood came in and I have it in primer which allowed me to get the cab lined up and radiator and air cleaner mounted.
  19. Soak them in the purple pond for awhile and then see what you have.
