  1. That is one sweet rig. So tell me more about this sleeper. I have not seen one before, and now I am seeing them throughout the forum.
  2. You guys are hitting homers across the board !! Keep up the great work !
  3. I have always built my pickups as street/hot rods. You are making me rethink the whole work horse thing. I am really liking it.
  4. Well, I figured it was time to surface after the big move over the last year. (still not finished though) I have been having a tough time getting and staying motivated at the bench. I saw this just last week and stopped to take some pics today. I have always wanted to build a log truck, and I think this will be the motivation. It just came out of the paint shop. I actually think I have all the parts in that HUGE collection I acquired a little over a year ago. Somebody happened to be there and opened the hood for me and let me take pictures of the cab as well. I know some of the owners of the yard and will try and see somebody during business hours so I can get more pics of the other trucks. I have more shots for reference, but these give you an idea of the overall appearance. I also took some pics of these two trucks. Are they 378 Pete's? All of the pics can be seen here. http://s40.photobucket.com/user/sampamandfam/library/1976 Stretched Pete
  5. I was in my local Hobby Lobby the other day and actually was EXCITED to see all that awesome old box art and kits I have not seen in ages. I left the store with the 1/8 Honda Trail 70. LOVED IT !! Soooo glad it was not labeled as a Dax. The box art showed the 1/8 Honda 750, so that one is now on the list !! Planes too !!
  6. Thanks Clay. Here it is with the new front wheels.
  7. Thanks, I will have one more pic to add to the thread tonight. it is getting its new front wheels on right now. i really want to build a model of this one. lol
  8. .....and Elvis has left the building !!!
  9. Ok, the truck came back from its owners, running and driving, so we could finish our part. The hood is hung, headlights and front fenders mounted. We will be installing the mirrors and a couple more painted parts. Then it goes back to its owners for them to finish up. Hopefully I can get a couple outdoor shots before it goes home.
  10. Thanks again everyone. I sure hope to get back to the bench soon.
  11. Thanks for the help, this project is a ways down the road yet, but now I know more on what to collect.
  12. I am leaving the grille alone.
  13. Man thats a LOT of orange. Its looking good JT, what color is the interior ?
  14. Just had some great deals with K100 Scale Trucker Brinx fat50 Chad JT Thanks everyone !!
  15. Thanks Clayton, I just went and looked it up. Your right, its very doable. Now I just need to find somebody who wants to trade one.
  16. I spent the last week out in Oregon with my family. While I was there i was able to spend time with my father-in-law and show him the pics of the Bison and what I had collected together to reproduce some of the rigs he used to drive. We spent lots of time looking at images of CF trucks and this is the type of truck he drove. He told me that the solid green truck was used for in town deliveries, while the white trucks were the road trucks. He also mentioned that CF had canvas topped trailers with hinged walls that folded flat along the side of the trailer and you pulled them out across the width of the trailer to section off the load as needed. So now I need to do more research and look for pics of these canvas topped trailers. I also needed to know if the tractor is available in the aftermarket. and what chassis would be a good one to start with. I know I purchased a resin body a few years ago, but now am not sure its the correct one. So off I go to find it. EDIT : Nope, I purchased the International, which is the wrong tractor
  17. So are you going to display it with a load, or on its cradle on the back of the tractor ? Love the color by the way.
  18. Thanks guys. I just got home last night and will find out tomorrow how much was done while I was gone....if anything. lol
  19. I will be keeping it green. I think its a beautiful build, so maybe "preserving it" is a better term than restoration.
  20. This is one that I recovered from that huge lot of stuff I got. I will get a pic for you next week when I get back home.
  21. This will be my next project. Cleaning up and restoring this model for display. Not a lot of loose parts, just very dusty. I hope I can get the ladders sorted out. lol Going out of town for the week, so not much action until I get back.
  22. Ok, we finally have the brown sprayed.
