I got a 75% Mopars and Buicks throw me. I think they need to have a quiz featuring cars made in the last ten years. Nobody would get over 20% I know I can't tell them apart.

I was there about before they added on the conference room and things. Too bad,it's a nice place. I can't figure out what the big deal is about the 83 Vette. it looks like an 84,but it's got 82 type wheels on one side... 84 type wheels on the other side. I guess because it's the only one. If there were new Corvettes involved, I'd say 'fill it in'

And I thought I was the only one to have problems with that glue. LOL -
Opinions needed. Opening doors
pharoah replied to freakshow12's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Whatever you feel capable of doing. If I put opening doors on a model,I open both. How about just opening the trunk and detailing it? Just an idea. -

That is just amazing! You scratch build the engine too? What parts are plastic and what ones are metal? I love big scale and would like to attempt an entire scratch build someday. -
I've been wanting one of these for a while, and finally found one. I had to but parts and a box from one *bayer and the engine itself from another. Now the only parts I don't have are the Hilborn manifold and the injector tubes. This even has the optional motorizng kit! It runs! I had to make a new push button and battery holder. Not pretty, but it works. It's hard to see in the pictures, but the impellers in the blower rotate and there's 2 pistons on the front of the engine that move.

Here's another one for ya. This one has a Mazda rotary in the front though.

1937 Ford Suburban

I want to know how GM ended up with 'Suburban' and International got the 'Carryall' name from Ford. Ford must not have wanted them. -

Nice build! Now this surprised me. I guess I don't know everything about cars. This is from my Crestline Ford truck book. I'll bet there's a good story about the names. -

I love this kit! There's so many things you can do with it. The only problem I can think of is where the dashboard meets the bottom of the windshield. It seems like the windshield sticks down too far and the dash ends up too low. I simply sand off the windshield to bring it up a bit. Good luck!- 13 replies

I know what you mean. I haven't been since the 80's. Nothing I really want to see anyway. Cars with chrome brake rotors?...c'mon..

Train full of 1/25 Chevelles
pharoah replied to Randytheroadrunner's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It's been my understanding that G scale was about 1/25th. I remember seeing a G scale diesel locomotive on the counter at a hobby shop years ago. Oh yeah, it was big-and expensive. -
Great builds everybody! I'm feeling a little nostalgic...

Amazing build! I'd love to do something like that, but where would I put it? -
What has changed the hobby for me? first, and it might sound trivial,is Bare Metal Foil.If it wasn't for this,I wouldn't be building. I hated trying to paint silver on the window frames and emblems, and I wasn't any good at it. Second is air brushes. Spray cans were always kind of hit and miss with me. I'm using T**iy* spray now,and I really like them. But for custom colors, you can't beat an air brush. Third would be styrene shapes like Plastruct and Evergreen. Great for scratchbuilding. Fourth is Resin casting. Very handy to have. Fifth would be the internet. An endless supply of reference pictures, articles and connections to places like this forum. My 50th of a dollar..

True. Several years ago,I bought a kit from 1968. Never been reissued and probably never will. I paid what I thought was a good price. I kept it for a few years with intentions of actually building it. I couldn't do it. I ended up selling it for around what I paid for it. If I built it,it wouldn't be worth $20. I'm not a collector,I guess. -

And the kits made now are a lot more likely to be reissued than the old kits. And I wonder 20 to 30 years from now,how many people will even be building models? By then, they could just go to their phone, which will be plugged directly into their brain, download a model ,and print it out on the 3D printer. Done! -
