  1. Oh yeah.. I saw this 73 Datsun 620 on Ebay about 4-1/2 years ago. I used to have one back in the 70's. It was pretty rust free (California truck),but needed a lot. I've pretty much rebuilt everything, but it still doesn't run. I'm planning to get rid of it this spring. at one time 2 years ago I had 3 of them. I'm over it now. Yes ,they can be a money pit..
  2. Maybe we grew up physically ,but we still have our toys!
  3. At first I thought you were talking about one of my models I've been building since the early 60's and I'm not a pro.Never will be. I can't wire an engine to save my life unless it's large scale. But even I use foil.
  4. It's a Palmer kit. actually the parts fit wasn't all that bad except for the windshield and frame. it has those horrible hard vinyl tires that you have to force the wheels on to. I get the feeling they didn't want to get (or couldn't afford) the licensing fees to make an exact replica. .So they made this thing that kinda looks like a Corvette. I build this probably about 5 or 6 years ago mostly to see how bad it really was. Hey, it was cheap. It didn't disappoint me in it's badness either. I knew to stay away from them when I was a kid.
  5. For some reason, the box art looked nothing like the model. I wonder why...
  6. There's a company that sells resin tires and wheels in 1/8th,but I can't think of the name right now. They're pretty expensive though. A 1/8th scale 67 Corvette? Do you mean the 1965 from Revell/Monogram?
  7. Too much $$$$ for me.
  8. Come inside.. Let us help you.. Here, build this AMT '40 Ford Coupe. It'll get better.
  9. Wings are sooo 20th century.. The Jetsons didn't have wings on their car.
  10. Great drawings! Very nice proportions / perspective / detail. You don't see very many four doors in the art world. Do you color and shade any of your work?
  11. That is not a rat rod. it looks too good! nice details! Did you use different plug wires? They look bigger to me. Thanks for posting.
  12. Oh oh - he's getting the clear tubing out again.
  13. Very cool William! I'm restoring a Big Tub right now,but mine is going to look like the box art. I have a Big Drag too that I built from old and new parts. Had to paint mine though. I had one when they were new way back when...
  14. I know it's a silly question,but why didn't you finish that Bgrgbldr?
  15. AMT just reissued the Ford LN 8000 race car hauler. http://www.ebay.com/itm/AMT-1-25-Ford-LN-8000-Race-Car-Hauler-AMT758-06-/200989941417?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item2ecbef1ea9 Ramps are easy to build, but you have to extend the chassis. Here's one I built a few years back. It was made from a spare cab I had. The 'chassis' is flat styrene. No engine either. Is this what you're looking for?
  16. Hey Mike, I sent you a PM.
  17. Bernard,Monogram did make a little 'T' and a little Deuce. The originals were never reissued as far as I know,so they're a little pricy. One of my 'future projects' is to make a 'Little Drag' from the AMT double model T kit.
  18. I think the original Big T was the only one with the rope and display stands. My Big Tub was 'pre-owned' and missing a few parts.
  19. Very nice Mike! Too bad your cohort lost interest. Hope to see more from you. I'm currently restoring an original 1963 version of that kit.
  20. I like Micro Mark. I've bought from them several times and they ship pretty fast. I buy resin and smaller tools. They're aimed a little more towards military and model railroading, but there's a lot of stuff car modelers can use too.
  21. Those are really nice! The '56 would have to be my favorite. I always wanted to build one ,but never got around to it. Someday..
  22. I can't figure out why the so called mechanic wasn't charged with anything. He took a car without permission from a closed dealership.
