  1. Thanks guys! Gene - Yes I did my avatar too. Scale? about 1/8th...
  2. Pretty cool stuff, Niko. Have you ever tried using Microsoft Paint or Paint Shop Pro? I think you would really like it,once you got the hang of it. Paint is pretty simple and a good place to start. That's what I did. No erasing either.
  3. No thanks. Why is it when people put stuff on Ebay they don't spend any time on the photography? I always touch up my photos. A little brightness and sharpening go a long way. Especially when you're asking that much. Like when people are selling a bunch of model parts and they just dump it on the table. OK rant over...
  4. Yeah- it'll do... I think I've seen some of the stockers in Collectible Automobile magazine. Nice1
  5. That turned out great Harry! Nice job!
  6. Wow, Never seen that kit. A friend of mine had a brand new scooter in 1980 ( I think) Very plain-no chrome. Just some decals on the side.I belive the interior on his was all black. He drove it untill it fell apart.
  7. Great work Ken! The 'master' himself was here last week and he was telling me about this. It's in good hands. Can't wait to see the final results. Good luck!
  8. Man, it's a good thing our parents were not around during all this mayhem. Does anyone have a story about 1/8th models? I heard somewhere about a kid (natutally) pulling one behind his bike until it was in pieces. Never did that, those things were $10 back then! That would have bought a lot of other models and paint and candy and soda and....
  9. I only intentionally destoyed one. It was a 40 Ford sedan, brush painted silver,so it was no big loss anyway. My parents didn't let me have firecrakers, and they wouldn't have liked me burning anything,so i had to be a little more creative. We lived on a side street that had cars parked on our side, but not on the other side. Sometimes it was a fairly busy street too. I got down in front of a parked car with my little silver glue bomb and waited.I think there were a couple of buddies with me-not really sure anymore, but I don't think I was alone. You know how those early AMT kits roll. I waited until a car was coming and just when it was within a few feet,I gave it a push - crunch! We laughed and picked up the pieces before another car came by. I'm really surprised the driver didn't stop and yell at me. And it was a good thing my mom didn't see me. Good times...

I'm not real sure myself Jonas. I guess it has somthing to do with the way they make the paper or boards. All I know is that the hot press is smoother. And there's nothing wrong with your english. John

If you get illustration board. Hot press is smoother. Cold press has a little texture. Go to www.dickblick.com and look at what they have. They used to send out free samples (small) of the papers and boards so you could see how they work. They probably still do. Try some B pencils. I used 2,4 and 6B Charcoal pencils are really dark. I've been experimenting with them. Keep it up!
  12. But it has the dueling banjos hit record! LOL I want one of those Fairlane wagons.

Hey Jonas, What kind of equipment do you use? Type of pencils (2B , 4H etc) and paper. Have you tried illostration board? It's very rigid and easy to work with.
  14. Hey Harry, I see what you mean. That's probably because a lot of times I darken these just a touch because pencil just doesn't photgraph well. Then I go back and lighten the background because it looks gray instead of white. The 53 Corvette looks gray, but it's actually white. I must have missed that. Not the first time. They are not photshopped in any way. They look a lot better in person. Thanks for the compliments!
  15. Thanks guys!
  16. Harry, you should have been a surgeon. That is excellent.
  17. It wasn't me,but that was really nice. Did I mention that I'm looking for a 61 Corvette- a real one? Anybody?
  18. I thought I might as well join the party. Here's some of mine. Pencil on illustration board. Thanks for looking!
  19. It needs to sit higher. Very nice.
  20. I wouldn't want to walk through that ,let alone drive a car through it. Amazing. Try that with a Neon.

Nice proprtions, too. Are they done in pencil?
  22. When you're putting the body on,could you put a thin piece of styrene or something between the body and chassis? I looked at the instructions on mine and it shows then putting the back of the chassis into the body first. See if you can get the rear part of the wheelwells on there first and then the foward part. It's got to go on there. I had one that was built a few years ago.
  23. Like I don't have too many already. With my luck,a lot of them would turn out to be 80's and 90's Nascar kits...
  24. Those are insane. I imagine a lot of those paint jobs cost more than my house...
