  1. cool build! I'm going to have to one of those. I like your backdrop too.
  2. Yes it kinda makes you wonder about the model car makers. If they're still marketing for a younger crowd.that isn't there anymore A quick look around this forum would show you that there just aren't that many youngsters building models -I'm sorry to say. Yes there's some, but not near like there used to be When I was a kid (late 50's -early 60's) ,Everyone built models. This has been discussed a lot I know, and it's the wrong thread for it. End of rant...
  3. What's the carbon footprint for one of those things? Go for it!
  4. I saw that last night. Got my attention! He said there was a sedan version of the 1/4 coupe that had sold recently for $35,000! I want one!
  5. The sad part is that car was somebody's baby at one time. Happens to most of them eventually I guess..
  6. Yeah it's all relative I guess. When models were $1.50 to $2.00,I had trouble coming up with that too. Now that they're $20 to $25,that's half a bag of groceries! (sad to say)
  7. I can remember when the little Testor's spray cans were about a dollar. Oil based house paint goes up every time I buy it too.
  8. I've seen it before too,but i still like it.
  9. Living in the past? Who me? It's OK,they know me there...
  10. I think I quit subscribing because I know it all and I've seen it all.
  11. Isn't it The Rodder's Journal? I feel the days of magazines are numbered too. I haven't subscribed to anything for quite a while. I used to read car mags all the time. They're getting thinner with more ads. They seem to think flash is better than substance.Get a car with a $40,000 paint job,put a bikini babe next to it,and someone will buy it. The last one I subscribed to was Mini Truckin' . I used to really like it. Now 90% of the trucks are S-10.,which more than likely don't get driven. They might get a scratch! Those of you with teenagers, when was the last time you saw one reading a car magazine? Online doesn't count either. My 2 cents.

Nice work Sven! Great detail! Here's a few of mine.
  13. I was one of those kids and I knew back then they were a piece of BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH. Cheap-yes. I imagine a lot of them ended up being the victims of firecrackers and various other forms of destruction. (See other thread about that)
  14. Nice! Love big scale stuff!
  15. I've seen some model wheels (somewhere) that consist of a rim and a center piece. Like you said, the center is adjustable for offset. If I remember right, the rim was aluminum ,and the center was resin. Seems like they were big scale too.
  16. I feel somewhat older all of a sudden..
  17. LOL Build list? No way.. I have 3 going now. I'll glue something together, then paint on another, and so on. I've got 4 or 5 'projects sitting in boxes waiting. I don't like to have too many started because I'd never get them done.
  18. $700,000 for a Camaro? Wow.. Didn't COPO cars used to be very plain -no heaters, radio, dog dish hubcaps-nothing but the biggest engine available? They didn't have stickers all over them announcing what they were.
  19. Couldn't have said it better Bill. Aren't most new cars designed with positive offset? Maybe because most are front wheel drive?
  20. OK Ira,Here's an idea for you.. you know,I never noticed those little propulsion units on the bottom of the car. What you might do ,knowing how good you are about making something out of nothing, You might go to Wally World and look around for stuff that's mounted on a card with a bubble of clear plastic over it. Hopefully something cheap and the right size.
  21. Tulio Please excuse me if you don't like this. I was looking at your artwork and to me it was like a coloring book. I just had to do something with it. I hope you like it.
  22. No no no - I don't need another project!! Sigh... I may have to get one anyway...
  23. Seems to be well executed, but ... IF it were mine,I would have left off the side trim and painted it a darker color. Not too bad,I've seen a lot worse.
  24. Very nice as usual Harry! I have an old Entex Model T Ford truck that seem to be calling me....
